At 5:30 you are correct, the crochet does unzip if you pull the left side of the Pink yarn. So transferring those stitches to a needle, pulling the left side of the Pink yarn, then knitting them would save so much more time than doing it from the right and unpicking all of that crochet. 👍 With lots of love 💝 from sunny ☀Arizona 🌵, 87/59f today. Crazy!

Plus using a smaller size needle to pick those up from the provisional cast on makes it much easier and it goes faster. You knit them off the smaller needle using the correct size needle, coming from the right, as normal.

You can upzip if you put a knot at the slip knot end so you know whicn end is which. You pick out the end of the last crochet chain and you can pick up the stitches from the “not slip knot end” and unzip the chain after you knit the stitch.

I did the pick up for the lace panel differently: i picked up my live stitches on one side, then scooped the bars for one side of the sleeve, pulled my circular needle through and then the other side of the of the sleeve then placed the other sides live stitches. I then cable cast on the stitches for the lace and joined working back and fourth using SSK/ktog and PTOG to join the lace to the edge body sleeves. this is the technique used in Bristol Ivey's Tea Leaf KAL

When I pick up stitches, I divide the number in 4. Then I put pins to divide my knitting where I will pick up stitches into four sections. Then you know you are picking up the stitches evenly in each section.

I have lengthened my sleeves..... Making a size medium. So , should I still pick up 18 stitches for the Right Side Panel along the Right Front Sleeve Edge?
@patriciahiggins23956 жыл бұрын
geri boyette did you get an answer about the lengthened sleeves? I did the same thing and am trying to figure this out.

Crochet chains will pull out easily from one end and not the other... so if you find yourself needing to unpick, just start at the other end and pull gently.

Please , can someone help me . I am up to the side panels and not having any trouble joining them but I am having a lot of trouble staying “ in pattern” on these sides . I have no idea what I’m doing wrong . I feel I like I am losing count and the pattern looks wrong . HELP !!!!

I am having a prblem early on in this project. I just completed the sleeve and added the stitches. The pattern said Set up row three last 5 stitches, k1tbl, p2, sl2 purlwise wyif. The last direction of sl2 purlwise wyif is confusing. It leaves the yarn hanging for the next row so I must be doing something wrong. HELP!

What is the brand and type of needles you are using in this video?

They look like Signature needles to me.

I'm doing my lace patterns in a contrasting darker color! My main colour is the bright blue from the kit, then I chose the dark slate grey for the lace. I'll certainly post pics on ravelry when it's done. My username there is Techcowgirl.

I’m so confused. Why does it say to pick up all the provisional stitches then cut the yarn? The video is not clear on this step.
@suzisaintjames6 жыл бұрын
I'm trying to figure out why you are knitting the sample in the same yarn as the sweater that you are wearing? Why not knit it in a different color. And if it's not a color that you would wear, it might be a color that might sway me into buying a kit. And if it was a color you hated, you could always do a give a way to get more subscribers and viewers. 👍 With lots of love 💝 from sunny ☀Arizona 🌵

I think so. I don't understand how you will be knitting two sides of the sweater when you have both the front and back stitches on one cable needle. I sure can't visualize it.
@SuperRedhead506 жыл бұрын
Agreed. There are so many gaps here. I wish that a complete stitch could be shown from start to finish with ONE camera shot. Showing multiple angles for one stitch is very confusing. Why couldn't they show more of the purling set up row. It went by so fast I had to watch it four times and I still don't understand it all. Confusing and not the usual Craftsy quality!!
@susanmei99806 жыл бұрын
+Linda Patrick I think, for the set up for the lace panel, they left out a row that should've been in the video: so first they cast on the 15 stitches for the lace panel; then they knit or pearled across to the left or the back side (I can't remember K or P); they joined it to the left or back side; then they turn the whole project around; now suddenly they're at the end of the stitches, which is impossible unless they knitted or pearled back across to the end of the row. That's why I think they left a chunk of the video out. They had to work their way back across those stitches in order to be ready to join to the front or the right side. Does this make sense? And did any of you guys figure this out? I just started my swatch yesterday but I'm trying to get my head around this. This is probably one of the worst teaching videos I think I've seen. We don't need to watch their faces all the time! We're trying to see what they're doing, but the camera keeps cutting away to show their faces

+Linda Patrick Maybe it's a new video editor, and it's their first day on the job? They should really train them better.
