Yes please share the recipe or at least tell us what that’s supposed to look like. My relative sent me a jar of peppers and spices in a clear liquid with no explanation. It was leaking liquid out the side of the lid. When I opened the jar it started bubbling aggressively. So after it calmed down I closed it again, but then it developed a white film on top. I didn’t know if it was safe to eat or toxic. My relative never got back to me. She probably thought I was stupid for asking.

If youre lazy like me but loves pickled onions don't bother with the boiling. Just pour a 50/50 mix of warm water & vinegar, a handful of spices like paprika/chili flakes/peppercorns, and a dollop of honey. Mix well (I just shake it) and throw in the fridge overnight and you're golden. I find boiling everything beforehand largly unnecessary unless you're trying to achieve a specific flavor through the spices youre using.
