"done is better than perfect" Liz Gilbert, I one of my favorites too! How many projects I didn't finish or even start, out of fear of not being good enough. Whenever I get stuck now, I check if it's due to fear of imperfection and if it is, "done is better than perfect" always gets me going again.

One of my favorite quotes is from writer Octavia E. Butler: “First forget inspiration. Habit is more dependable. Habit will sustain you whether you’re inspired or not. Forget talent. If you have it, fine. Use it. If you don’t have it, it doesn’t matter. As habit is more dependable than inspiration, continued learning is more dependable than talent. Finally, don’t worry about imagination. You have all the imagination you need. Persist.”

Two of my fav quotes: 1.No problem can be solved from the same level of consciousness that created it. To break out of your current problem, you need to adopt a different frame of mind- the mind of someone who has achieved your ideal goal. 2. Life is like a camera, focus on what's important, capture the good times, develop from the negative and when things dont work out.. take another shot.

My favourite quote is the last phrase of the song "Guaranteed" by Eddie Vedder: "I knew all the rules, but the rules did not know me". We don't need to conform, we absolutely can write our own story, our own rules. I'm a single woman of 42 without kids, so I'm nothing like most women in society. But I give meaning to my life in another way. I started climbing almost three years ago, and it made me aware that I am so much stronger than I used to think, or that people think. Now, I'm pursuing a more adventurous life. For now I'm combining this new lifestyle with a 9 to 5 job, but I'm not sure if I'll continue doing so. But like I said, we can write our own stories. Who knows what will happen in the next chapter...

I'm also a big fan for quotes! "Focus on what you can, not what you can't" --- This quote is my all times' favourite. It's a good reminder to stop worrying or stressing over something unchangeable or not yet to come. Instead of doing that, we can focus our attention on doing things within our control. "Don't limit your life to your memory. Let imagination guide you." - This is not a direct quote. But it's something I learned from Stephen Covey's 7 habits. I think that this mindset is very powerful and empowering. We should all have faith in ourselves that we can be, and will be, a better version of ourselves. "Love many things, for therein lies the true strength, and whosoever loves much, perform much, accomplish much, and what is done in love is done well." - Vincent Van Gogh "Challenges aren't supposed to paralyze you, it's supposed to help you discover who you are." - Bernice Johnson Reagon "Love and kindness are never wasted. They always make a difference. They bless the ones who receive them, and they bless you, the giver." - Barbara De Angelis "A plan executed imperfectly now is better than a plan executed meticulously never." - I forgot who was the first person to say this but I know that learned it from you, Sadia! 💕 "You deserve a relationship that nurture you to become a better version of yourself... If a relationship is still unhealthy even after you have talked with that person, acknowledge that this relationship once served you purpose, but no longer. And let go." - This is another quote that I learned from you, and have told manyyyyy of my friends when they were in trouble. Thank you so much for being inspirational, Sadia! I've internalised a lot of your words and they always support me very warmly. ❤️

This is a short story that I keep in mind when times get tough. A king was going through very bad stuff. He was losing wars, his child was sick, his kingdom had no money. A sage visited him. He treated the sage well. Being happy with the hospitality, the sage gave him two small boxes, red and green. The sage asked him to open the red one on his worst day and the green one on his best. The king opened the red one as soon as the sage left. It had a note that read 'THIS TOO SHALL PASS'. Later the king's life took a 360 degree turn. His kingdom became prosperous. His child's health improved. One day he remembered about the sage and how the 4 words got him through his rough patch and he opened the green box. It too had a note and it read 'THIS TOO SHALL PASS'. I love this story. It has gotten me through some really terrible times. And made me grateful for the good days. I don't know who told me this or where I read it. But it will make me very happy if it makes someone feel better and stand stronger in their bad times. As always I love your videos. You have so much positivity and good vibes it just makes anyone who is watching smile. I noted each of this quotes.❤️

Soo very inspiring! As a teenager I often doubt myself and have a hard time getting away from a bad mindset. When I watch your videos I feel like making life lighter and brighter.
@TheFrandall5 жыл бұрын
I was a teenager once. I am now 64. My super close friend that I have known since I was 14 and I do a book study together once a week. We were reflecting on when we were teenagers how alone we often felt in spite of the fact that we had close friends and family. We are now studying Pema Chodron's book Start Where You Are . In it she teaches Tonglen, a practice of realizing that in this world there are thousands of others who feel just as I do right now. Maybe even 100s of thousands. I breathe in feeling the feeling and breathe out peace and love to me and to the others. That way, I transform how I feel and I begin to feel connected to others and to help lighten their lives. It's a positive way to gently take action to help myself and others. I told my friend that I so wished that I knew of this practice when I was a teenager because of the anguish that I felt in feeling that no one else could know what I was going through. I don't know if you feel that way but I now suspect that most teens do and I wish for you a beautiful and fulfilling Life. You are always worth being and having the best Life has to offer. Peace.

my favourite quote is, "My life is full of terrible things, that never happened." This quote is really helpful to me as I at times overthink and get stressed and this quote helps me to relax my mind. It was a great video Sadia!!

Thank you so much for this video, Sadia. I have noticed that I, among others, have fallen victim to the notion of failure and self-doubt. It’s so easy to want something but in order to achieve it, we must embrace change and wave goodbye to our current lifestyle that only hinders our growth. I really love how you mentioned that we all convince ourselves that we simply aren’t talented and that we “weren’t born with it,” because it really does show that fear of failure can cause you to become your own roadblock. If we simply stay in our comfortable little nests, when will we ever learn to fly? These are the things I’ve been telling myself over and over again, because I fear regret more than I fear failure, so step by step, even if they’re tiny baby steps, I am slowly reaching for my dreams and gaining self-confidence and assurance.

I've been delaying my journey towards achieving my goals because of the fear of failure and self-doubt too. It sucks to feel this way. But now after reading your comment I m going to give it a shot and not quit. Thanks for inspiring me ❤❤

"Words are [...] our most inexhaustible source of magic." As someone who adores writing this quote from J. K. Rowling really touches my heart. It maybe doesn't fit properly in this list, but I wanted to share it :)
