But my hair starts to raise whenever i see then drill or cut a hole and don't grind down the sharp edges and no primer, paint or sealer is being used to protect the bare metal.

@@3DPeter Just yesterday I bought a 1965 mustang fastback with the pony interior. The guy who had the car had bought a 1967 Chevelle from me about 40 years ago. I found his for sale listing on craigslist where it had just been listed three hours before. The car was about 25 miles away from me so I shot over and checked it out. I had some good items that I was willing to offer plus $7000 and he took it. The car has all the new sheet metal, floor pans, rear quarters, front fenders everything accept the engine and trans. I am thrilled and have done four mustangs to this point plus I am certified in corvette restoration by Bloomington Gold Corvettes. I never thought I'd ever find a 65 fastback that was a good deal.

We always ran the coolant overflow tank into the frame rail OR properly onerboard so any water wont get under a tire and cause a crash. Also like the poly coolant that operates at low/zero pressure.

This car is badass! Made me a little nervous when the kill switch tab was tacked and weren't wearing gloves. I kinda feel like some of the accessories were an after thought, drilling into fresh paint when everything could have been mocked up before and drilled/painted over right away to prevent rust from forming VERY quickly. But I digress it's still a kick ass car!

What's the point of the shifter extension.?? The old bloke was miles away from the pedals and the yound guy firing the car up was slid all the way forward with his clutch leg extended as straight as it could. That seat needs to come about 6" forward.

The drive shaft is not a “ RECIPRACATING MASS It’s “ ROTATING MASS “. There’s a huge difference , recipracating = is a forward then backward motion , like a hand saw would work . ROTATING MASS is just that , rotation . It goes around around around ! Just remember this about a light drive shaft .. you get the obvious weight reduction but what you lose is INERTIA . A heavier shaft will help with “ free rotation “ . Lighter shaft will still rotate freely of course but would stop its inertia rotation sooner than the heavier one..
@maddog96593 жыл бұрын
lol @ less reciprocating mass with an aluminum driveshaft, since when do driveshafts reciprocate?
@frankieelder32103 жыл бұрын
About as often as my wife does........lol.
@trevortrelfa75023 жыл бұрын
Actually, the driveshaft is rotating mass, like the flywheel, it has rotational inertia, not reciprocating mass like the pistons.

Surprised they went with a live axle, that was a clear performance compromise on the build! The 9" they used is better suited for straight line performance!
@guysumpthin2974 Жыл бұрын
Nope , depends on , weight torque…. There are many advantages to a live axle in some situations , try a pan car with ir = last place , daytona cup car , injected sprint cars , 1965 to 1970 mustangs vs 1965 to 1970 vets (many tracks , many years , so much proof ) better for tires , maintains alignment, more durable , typically less parasitic loss.
