Personally I cannot decide about Piers Morgan. On the one hand I like and respect him because he isn't afraid to say exactly what he thinks, and he usually gets things spot-on and talks total sense. On the other hand, he is a self-confessed tabloid journalist, and sadly they are all vermin. They destroy peoples' lives without a second thought, and I'm sure Morgan was one of the worst in his day. He's a fascinating character nonetheless

@18:08 This is where understanding the American political systems comes to play. Gun laws are State Rights. In Chicago guns are illegal, yet gun crime still exists, that's the paradox Americans have with guns. Changing the law isn't going to solve it, it's cultural. I'm sure in 1996 guns weren't cultural in the UK, even if ownership laws were lax.
@jackwatsonepic6262 жыл бұрын
The UK has never had guns in my lifetime and I was born in the 60s I agree with pierce guns should be outlawed in all countries look at port Arthur in Australia for example in 1996 ; maybe keep shotguns for killing the likes of animals in certain countries " but who needs an Ousie for home defence ? Besides half of the people who are breaking into your house only want your VCR or TV
@Anon54387 Жыл бұрын
Hannah: Gun laws are not a states' rights issue. States' rights don't go so far as to infringe individual rights.

@@jackwatsonepic626 The Port Arthur shooter had a history of very disturbing behaviors going back to childhood yet he wasn't put in a psychiatric hospital until after he killed 35 people in cold blood. And so it goes in the USA because we also stopped putting those so unbalanced they were a danger in psychiatric hospitals. There were warning signs on top of warning signs in the Uvalde, Parkland and Highland Park mass shootings just for three examples.

It's not that he is unlikeable in the sense he means. The dislike is not because he is awkward or holds people "to account". It's because he concentrates on the easy targets while ignoring a whole world of others whom he never challenges, but who in the main hold the power that he never questions, like the "rich and famous" whose narcissism and sociopathy he shares. The only useful thing he did is to alert the US of its dysfunctional love of guns. Other than that he is just a male version of K. Hopkins.
@darkgiggler2 жыл бұрын
Nah you don’t need to choose to be likeable just be real. Most people like genuine-ness but with a sense of propriety though and open mindedness. But being genuine, respectful of others who have other opinions, it’s fine to voice your thoughts if it makes you unlikeable that’s worth being genuine (but with a sense of propriety).

I don't know much of anything about Piers Morgan, and I also do not agree with his political stances either. But, his ideas about having a good debate, not getting upset about people having different ideas than you, and even trying to tone down the Western left from being so insane. Perhaps we don't like the president we have, but surely we can support the president and not "leave the planet", simply because he is our president and deserves some form of respect.

Jiminy. That knucklehead in the audience equating the fear of big government in America to the SIZE of America rather than that we experienced big government when an English colony and that's why we put strict limits on government, and the UK still has virtually no limits on what government can do, just whatever the majority wants.
