Thank you for the fantastic effort at marketing your city. Unfortunately the decay is everywhere and there's only one person to blame 😢

Heta brother, my name is Mergan Pillay, I'm glad you have done this video, as I was just speaking about this yesterday, is so sad to see wat has become of out beautiful city, if u had notice alot of stores had closed due to the conditions and state the buildings are at and the Paras that are scaring ppl away including the robberies ppl urinating etc and sleeping outside the stores, we come back to our government, there suppose to be money to use to repair and paint and clean up theses places, I live in pietermaritzburg but I don't even go uptown anymore, because it's heartsore to even view these places, I hope this video is viewed by many and change is made bless you brother🙏

The litter and rubbish lying in the streets shows that the local people simply do not care and have no pride in uplifting the place. Decay IS the enemy- People , please do not accept it! Thanks for the vid, there are many good memories of PMB

Yoh this is painful, I grew up in Pietermaritzburg. Use to walk from West street, pass Maritzburg College till I reach UKZN. This city has everything, but its decay is directly caused by ANC rule. There is no maintenance there or safety. Amaqabane aTambo 😒😒😒😒

I moved to PMB in 1982, it was different then but still familiar.

South Africa boosts an Infrastructure that many other African nations will die for today It is also true to say that many of us are second class citizens and or residents in Europe because of world class infrastructures which we do not have African nations who requested independence at an early stage of European indoctrination not colonisation. The word colonisation is used to justify defiance against disciplined organisation It is true to say that cleanliness is next to Godliness. Why are African nations failing to meet the most basic needs of humanity after independence. The first act of discipline is cleanliness Strategy of self empowerment. I would begin from primary schools educating our youth 1 ) about the health advantage of cleanliness 2) the environmental impact of disposing of waste the right way 3) how to take the initiative and not to wait for a cleaner or mum or dad 4) how to correct irresponsible adults who litter our streets by not using public bins etc The strategy of self empowerment will reduce general cost of cleaning up our cities and also promote green policies such as recycling etc Sincerely Ejike

Our current youth is currently taught at standard of your specification but they are not the leaders! Some of the leaders currently leading are either uneducated or went through the Bantu education! The so called EXILE seems like it’s a myth because some of these leaders were educated overseas, but the impact of their education is questionable
