The question @22:20 is answered a couple times: To “unload while moving” you move command, also boosted, the Medivacs in, then exactly where you wanna start to unload you have to click the “unload command key” and left click on a Medivac. Repeat “unload command key” and left click on each individual Medivac. Because of this question I decided to write a small guide for me about everything I know about Medivacs, and wanted to share with you guys. I use a customized grid, e.g. Attack Move on A. Feedback appreciated, also if you know something that I don’t. MEDIVAC GENERAL BEHAVIOUR: Medivacs unload in the same order, in which the units were loaded in. Medivacs stop unloading when given a stop command (W), works both with “normal unload” and “unload while moving”. See below. Medivacs stop unloading when given a hold command (E), works only with “normal unload (medivac not moving)”, and doesn't work with “unload while moving”. Move command (right click) breaks a “normal unload” command. But once a Medivac is unloading with the “unload while moving” technique, move command doesn’t break the unloading command. Medivacs don’t heal when unloading. Medivacs don’t heal when given a move command (right click)! Medivacs instantly heal when given a stop command (W) or hold command (E) unless it is unloading. Note: If you have the medivacs in the same control group as the army, the medivacs heal during an attack move (A) and stop healing as you stutter step your army with move commands. To prevent this I would recommend not having them in the same control group. Also helpful for the “fast load-in” technique. Disadvantage is, it takes up 2 control groups. Medivacs “without a command”, that is after being spawned or after a fulfilled command (e.g. move command), follow injured units until there’s nothing left to heal or when a certain range breaks, then it will return to its last move command or even the army waypoint. QUEUED UP COMMANDS AND TECHNIQUES “normal unload (Medivac not moving)”: move command (right click) + hold shift + unload (V) + left click on the ground. Technique used when dropping in the dark (e.g. corner of a base) and then moving in stimmed, or when just to distract the opponent and not even looking at the drop, although 1 stim would be great. Or used when surviving the drop with injured units to heal them up in a safe space nearby. “unload while moving”: move command (right click), if you like boosted (X) + unload (V) + left click on individual Medivac. Repeat unload (V) + left click on each Medivac. Technique used when focussing on the drop. “unload a specific unit”:, to unload only specific units: select medivac + left click on the individual units in the HUB. “fast load-in”: select army + right click on medivac + hold shift + right click on every medivac (or as much load-in-space as you need for your army) + select medivacs + boost + move over army, in order to pick them up. Note: If you want to load-in, but your army is surrounded and out of reach of your Medivacs, the Medivacs won’t move to pick them up. So when that happens, you have to give only the Medivacs a move command to move fast over them. If you give the same move command also to your entire army, you break the load-in command. “spread full and empty medivacs”: unload (V) + left click on the ground as far as you can (you can use als the minimap for that)+ hold shift + right click on the opposite site of the unload command. Empty Medivacs will not follow the unload command at all, but will instantly follow the move command. Thank you for reading!

Eyy that's awesome, wasn't expecting players so high on the ladder to be using this. The builds are purposefully a little less efficient in order to be more noob friendly this low, but there should be a lot more refinement over the coming weeks that will make it scale a lot better to diamond play

@@PiGCoaching I think it comes down to something you said in the previous video (?) in the series where going back and analyzing the basics every game is one of the most important steps to getting better. I topped out in Platinum 10 years ago, so while I'm older and slower now, I'm watching because I want to refresh myself on those basics and the habits I formed when I was playing ladder. One of the big things from back then for me was setting a high initial benchmark and reminding myself that this is something achievable with lots of practice--every second I shaved off, every small improvement to precision, and every disciplined execution was another step on that road to the high target I set from the start.

I like none of your matches has any all in rush/cheese like I've been experiencing. In my last 5 matches, I already had to deal with cheeses like Stalker rush, void ray proxy, roachling rush battlecruiser rush, and even got matched with Maru (it didn't end well for me) like at beginning of the match, should I have scout all corner of the map for proxy or corner bases first ? I'm a silver league player

Haha welcome to SC2! Endless possiblities and the ladder has a habit of throwing games at you that aren't what your current focus is on. Some notes from the first episodes section of the document: Scout: Are there buildings in their base? If not they’re proxying us and we will respond: Bunker on highground + full wall, then resume build (with CC on highground) If they have the fastest possible spawning pool (finishes about 1:00, then you can do the same response) Then hide SCV behind their natural and check if no natural at 3:30 No natural at 3:30 = scan their main to see what they’re doing, 1-base play has a lot of options If you apply the above steps you'll be able to survive all initial rushes by defending the highground and then moving your CC down a bit later. If it's something trickier like a BC rush hopefully your scan + sending our some scouts if needed will spot things like BCs with plenty of time to react. SC2 doesn't have exclusive names so there's probably a few thousand players called "Maru" or "Serral", unlikely to be the actual player unless they've had to start a brand new ladder account on a different region. If you're floating a fair bit you can. However you shouldn't plan to build more. The reason money floats while pushing is because I'm playing slowly and focusing on the army - but if I took time to build extra barracks earlier when focusing on macro, it would have slowed down my producing units and weakened the initial push

I always use control groups to create army groups on numbers 1, 2 or 3. I don't use the select all army key AT ALL until much higher on the ladder

Sorry, I meant when you already have army group and sending scout from the army group(that you created). So how do you do it when you use hot key for your army group they will not come back. @@PiGCoaching yeah I am old (over 30) with little time for playing, whenever I am able to execute builds properly I mostly easily win now thx to your videos but when anything unexpected happens I get cascade of mess ups. Anyway love your casual but thoughtful teaching approach (i have MA in psych, adult learning through play was my thesis), this is amazing series I am now at gold league video and will stay there until I get gold league myself.

Hello @pig Im a big fan of your build and i can copy it, and i found out my self that you can skip produktion and get 4 raxs faster. While thats is a very good thing. Nevertheless innow learning and such forward > Questen i play Silver1/ gold 3 ish with the spare time i have is ok for me. But When i was in gold 3 i played Diamond /plat 2-1 player which are fare better then me. Also how can u counter BC.s with this build / FP + Turrents. 70% the time i run into 30min+ games were Terran camp. I hope you read the comment and maybe have a solution. Peace out and keep doing this super streams and videos for us, with little time.

How to counter BC with this build: When you scout with the Viking you should see already a Fusion Core in production. To beat a BC (550HP, 3Armor) you need roughly a couple Marines, 1 Cyclone, and 1 Viking, so go for another one before the add-on. You can also build 2-3 Missile Turrets, if you feel safer then, but definitely don't overreact. If the Army is in position, you don't need a single turret to beat the BC, although it's easier, if it does some extra damage. The Cyclone is the key unit, it will do the most damage (400 in 14secs per Lock-On) and must be kept alive through repair and kiting back and forward before Lock-On would break. The Viking is there for extra damage, and the Marines are just there to tank some damage and do some, you don't need to micro them, it doesn't matter if they die. Just keep the Cyclone (and if possible the Viking) alive, and in case he wants to escape over cliffs, and would survive with very little health (and if he came in offensively with Teleport, so it's on Cooldown), follow with the Viking or scan!, if you would lose sight so the Cyclone Lock-On doesn't break. Hope this was helpful. You can practice that in a Custom Game under Arcade, named "LOTV Unit Tester Online". I managed it after some practice with only 1 Marine 1 Cyclone and 1 Viking.

My friend destroys me with your Zerg strategy, by the 8 min mark he has so so many more banelings and zerglings then I do marines and tanks and marauders. I have 1v1ed him many times and he keeps destroying me with your Zerg strat because I don’t punish him early game. What do I do?

Hey pig just wanted to say these series and what not in general would be infinitely more helpful if you probably coached someone around these ranks and then played around those ranks to kind of break down what they are doing and how to change it. When i learned SC2 through your series+winters it honestly was not the most helpful because it didn't really teach me the game in a dynamic way, its too linear if that makes sense. For example you pretty much just teach me a rough marine timing attack for example and i pretty much just refine it to plat. What if my opponent rushes collosi? or roaches? maybe they have set up a way to distract me at home while massing carriers who knows. But the whole point im trying to make is your strength in these so far is showing how to build units and structures a bit more differently, but absolutely F tier and problem solving and understanding whats happening in the game and why certain things can be important. ive made it to diamond on zerg and protoss so its not like im a total peon anymore. But i had to learn a lot about understanding the "state of the game" and judging what they could be potentially building from what they have and how i should counter it etc. SC2 is too complicated for you not to teach a little bit more wide of a range of ideas. Plus it might help you understand more things we struggle with seeing someone play at that level (even tho its probably extremely boring and tilting).
