Great question. We cycle through lots Of birds so the ones in that pen don’t stay for long.

Is there a struggle to acquire quality homers? My grandfather raises racers and havent talked to him about shortages. His are flying anywhere from 100-300 miles (i am guessing based on all the places he drives to release them). I know he practically gives his away in comparison to how much he could charge. Not sure how many he would have available at this very moment, but probably could hook folks up. He has a few lofts.

1 more question. I was going to put my loft about 400yrds behind my house by a shed I have. However I'm in a wheelchair and putting it by house would make it easier. Will that drive my vizslas nuts. I have a 10 yr old whos a great dog and now have a 16 month whos a hand full. Just curious if you think having the birds and dogs in my back yard is a bad idea.....thx for your time wish I would have found your channel earlier or just hVe sent m y pup to you. Thx

Do you fly every homing pigeon you have or do you pick and choose which ones you fly.
@StandingStoneKennels4 жыл бұрын
I am flying specific birds I picked up said to be “homers” most of the birds we train with have to fully 200-300 yards and pigeon will home that distance.
@cjbaxa51914 жыл бұрын
You should name the bird that you said is doing a great job bourbon!

I need to buy a trap ASAP. There are two kings at a large condo complex. Any suggestions?? I like the bait bird idea. I need to catch the first one and then go around the backside and catch the other one.

Question finally, one guy, with one pup. Is it worth it to get pigeons, or should I just utilize my local game preserve and their birds? If I went the pigeon route, how many, should I just catch wild or should I raise some(how many)? Oh and sock recommendation, "Darn Tough" I've had some great luck with them, just have to find the right weight
@stephenchrist15754 жыл бұрын
Definitely worth it to get pigeons for one pup. I have 12 homers for my pup. Find homers if you can.
