The clip at 7:20 actually shows a cool mechanic people may not be aware of, blue pikmin that aren't following you, and are in water, will actually attempt to rescue other colored drowning pikmin which is why we see yellows being throw back over. The blue bikmin are trying to save their life :')

for new players, the clip at 2:08 you are meant to throw blue pikmin on the upper area to the left and then call them. They get stuck on the railing and then pick up the item when you guide them over. This same level appears in pikmin 2.

Many of these new player stunts - waiting for pikmin to swim back to you instead of whistling them, directing bombrock carriers into massive biting enemies - they're natural courses of action for Pikmin 3 Deluxe players. And many of these probably played P3DX first.

The switch "port" has some minor changes that really fuck with the physics for some reason, it's made the Libra even harder to get, and the sudden death pikmin glitch even easier

That libra glitch happened to me on the gamecube version when I was 6 or 7. I panicked, then started to tear up that I had to delete my file (it was an incredible run). I remember calling my older sister who taught me the game to help but yeah we ended up deleting the file but she softened the blow and made sure it didn't happen again by doing that part for me when we got to it a few days later.

I think the big majority of these glitches is caused by new physics programming, where things stop having collision and clip into each other (most clear example is 8:16 ) whereas in the original games, the bulbear would kind of walk on top of the other stuff. This could explain the libra clipping through the edge and getting launched, and most other glitches shown.

I think some of these newer glitches with physics is due to the fact it's running on better hardware than the GameCube, so the physics calculate a helluva lot faster than Pikmin 1 GC. So it'll just cause Pikmin to receive "knockback" when carrying items off ledges and cause the Libra to yeet into the stratosphere

The Libra bug used to be quite common on the original Gamecube version as well, and because parts don't respawn after falling into the abyss in Pikmin 1, you'd need to reset the day once it happens otherwise you'd softlock yourself out of completing the game (you also couldn't rewind days like you could in later ports either).

I beat 3 around the time it came out and played a bit of 2 on wii a few years after, but this is my first time playing 1. It was really fun when whatever the giant dweevil guy is called stepped on a bomb rock and wiped like 80 pikmin. Only glitch I can remember so far is Mamuta shoving some sprouts underground and them not popping up to where I could pull them for a couple minutes

Minor spoilers but I have a list of things that can easily avoid most of this. Rule 1: Keep your Pikmin away from areas where your using explosives. Rule 1.5: Keep Bomb holding yellows somewhere safe since if they die there bomb rock goes boom Rule 2: The only Pikmin that can be in Water is Blue Pikmin every other Pikmin will drown so if you were ever curious why no other pikmin goes in water unless there blue now you know. Rule 3: If your in the Forest Naval the third area of the game Grab Libra that shiny green gem at the top first in a day your there. It is infamously buggy in the physics department and its not unheard of to have it go flying off the edge making it impossible to get it and 100% the game without resetting the day it fell down. Rule 4: Pikmin Pathfinding in 1 is very rough and basic if the part is surrounded in water the Pikmin will take it into the water. And if there is a alternate route that is possible they will only take the route that the game is programmed to take that may have obstacles in the way so clear them out or account for them even if you think your not gonna run into them. Rule 4.5: Make sure your object route is flowing smoothly if something jams it up you wont be able to get anything through it until that jam is cleared up. Rule 5: In the 4th area in the Distant springs if you get to it in or under 15 days there will be this giant egg in the center of the springs...Thats the Smokey progg (Fun Fact the Smokey Progg is also the very first spirit you encounter in world of light in Smash Ultimate.) in this game he is a super boss make sure no Pikmin travel around it to much or the egg will hatch and youll have this toxic smoldering blob of insta Pikmin killing fun swarming your base camp for the day. You can use Pikmin to attack and break the egg before it hatches to prevent him from being a problem if you need to be around the egg and its beginning to hatch. The reason this happens is the switch port is a big deal because its the first time Pikmin 1 and 2 have had digital releases on a proper successful console while its Wii version was on WiiUs Eshop that was a failing system and only a small group of the fans played the game on the WiiU because of the market situation. Here though people all over are now properly playing the game many for there first time on the Switch and its a very big deal since its a international digital store on a successfully released Nintendo console which is why we are getting a large influx of new players. Unfortunately that also means they are running into all the things many of us as kids ran into when we first played the game on the Gamecube yep...Good times indeed.

That’s mandatory, but if you press minus while hovering over your save file, you can rewind time

Pikmin 1 is known to be decently buggy. But most of these you likely wouldnt encounter. Lot of them just seem to be random. Worse case scenario, you can rewind by a day in the game's menu.

Also alot of stuff in the video isnt even a glitch. Especially the bomb related ones. That's just the AI in this game being a bit rough at times. It's consistent, just not good lol. You have to know how to make good use of it.

because the game can't handle when a ship part gets upside down, it tries to automatically correct itself by facing upwards again, but then it just keeps rotating and keep trying to get upright, and then it just yeets
