Hint to anyone saving Olimar; the mysterious life form hates water so if you can find a pond to stay in, let Brittany and water (or fairy) pikmin keep olimar there while you let the others work on the path. The MLF will continue trying to get you but the water acts like an invisible wall to it.

I rewatched the video and I saw that the total pikmin on the field number mysteriously turned to 93 when you were digging for bombs, that means 7 pikmin disappeared when you were digging for bombs the first time in the formidable oak.

i just realized why louie acts why he does in pikmin 3... he is the only one who doesn't wear a helmet, and it is shown in the original that the air is somewhat toxic, so he breathed it in and went crazy

what I did for this final area was use the go here comand with Britney & 10 Pink Pikmin on Olimar basically made Britney walk around the map in big circles making sure that the giant boss was slowly following behind her chasing after Olimar using the large amount of looping tunnels as an advantage while the others would work on clearing the path & preparing the satest & fastest route back to the outside

This is just a guess, but maybe you were suppose to stun the blob with a bomb to make it vulnerable to attacks? I've never played Pikmin 3, so I can't be sure, but it did seem to be giving you a lot of bombs to use. Of course, there was also a reenforced wall at the cutscene 5:00 so maybe you were suppose to use the bombs back there.
