fun fact: you hear forest of hope in 0:11 because is actually forest of hope and awakening wood map, but it change the map because when olimar left the planet. for him it's 10 second to go back home, but for the planet it's 5 years allready, so when olimar got back to planet, it change (sorry if my grammar is bad or confusing because it's hard to explain)

'Why is olimar's music so much more fun compared to the normal music?' You ask normally well let's put it into perspective. Olimar has crashed 3-4(unsure) times onto earth. After all of this, there's nothing that surprises him any more. He knows the pikmin, he knows the place, and he understands the rules. Walking around, he's filled with ease and direction. "Let's go get my ship parts!" Your character has been sent a distress signal from a person on an (not so) uncharted planet, and then your ship crashes scattering your crew and damaging you ship. You feel small, inexperienced, unprepared. As the rescue corps newest member, you walk around being quiet, and keeping to yourself. "I hope we can rescue Olimar and the crew in time." Even better, music changes and gets modified by the creatures you encounter in-game. this is your mind whirring and processing the different creatures you encounter, audibly showing what or how your character is feeling being around a spectralid and/or a bulborb. Edit: sooo theories debunked this, but I’m just going to change it to olimar is a fun family guy that works at a dead end job and he’s just goofing off 😜 rip my theory

This is a really good way to look at it!! I just saw it as Nintendo you didn't really try with the music this time. But it makes more sense that it's so vague. We are not Olimar that's been here more than once. I just don't find these themes as catchy as Pikmin and Pikmin 2 tracks. But the tracks in Olimar's side story really hit home and I love all the little motifs of songs like the forest of Hope ,the distance spring and is it the Final Trial?

this would make sense, unfortunately it's clear though olimar's dialogue in this mode that pikmin 1-3 aren't a part of this game's canon, so this is his first time here.

apparently this game is separated from the rest! possibly in a different timeline of events, so sadly this wouldnt be the case. though the upbeat tunes may just be the hope of the pikmin, and seeing that he has a chance
