When the world seems chaotic and overwhelming, I find that what helps me the most is to come to the mat and connect through movement to the body and the breath. In this class we will combine gentle movement and stretches to calm the nervous system and create a sense of inner calm. i will also invite you to join me in some prayers for peace.
We pray for the power to be gentle, the strength to be forgiving, the patience to be understanding, the power of love to overcome hate
May we put our trust in the power of good to overcome evil. We pray for the vision to see and the faith to believe in a world emancipated from violence. help me to devote thought and energy to the task of making peace.
Grant me the serenity to accept the things i cannot change, courage to change the things i can, and wisdom to know the difference
When there is hatred, let me show love. when their is despair, hope. When there is darkness, light.
From the book of Isaiah:
They shall beat their swords into plowshares and their spears into pruning hooks. Nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more
