Michelle, I just want to take a moment and write this to you, whether you read it or not is totally okay with me! I just want to put it out into the universe for all to hear! You have got to be one of the most relatable and inspirational people here on KZbin. You remind me so much of the quote "Work Hard, and Stay Humble". Although I may not understand fully how hard you work, I know that you do work very hard and long hours. I deeply admire people who are hard workers, especially when I know that they are working hard so that their loved ones can have a good life. This is the main inspiration I have taken from you. For example, you work really hard so that you're mom may have an easier and more relaxing life. I think the best way to limit gossiping around you is to show people your complete and utter disinterest in the subject. If you yourself gossip, you need to get a life. No really, you need to find something to focus on that isn't other people's business. However, if you don't gossip and the people around you do, just show them they bore you when they're gossiping. After a while, they'll do less of it, since it's no fun to talk if no one's doing it with you. Of course, humans are social beings and talking about others will always be a thing, but it shouldn't have a negative impact on you.

When you are a person with a physical disability like myself, and i want to work in the beauty business (i'm aiming for Ulta or Sephora) how can i go about getting it when you fear being shunned for being physically limited? Even though said places claim they dont discriminate im still worried that my disability will be a setback to them.

Rock it. And show that your disability does not stop you from showcasing your great skills. They'll be talking at the coffee machine like "Yo did you see Sophie work? Even though she's disabled, she's doing her job so goddamn well. Her disability is not stopping her from being so damn amazing".

+Sophie Ortega I recommend creating beautiful looks on yourself and family/friends and take photos. Build a strong portfolio and show them what you're capable of doing. Seeing is believing, you can say you're good, but you can show them how amazing you really are. Best of luck beautiful.

+Sophie Ortega Where do you live? If you're in the US, it's illegal for anyone to deny you a job because of a disability per the Americans with Disabilities Act. An employer also has to make reasonable accommodations for you if/when you take a position with them (for example, if you apply for a desk position, they have to provide you proper space & work equipment for your wheelchair or other assistive devices). If you're not in the US, check your country's laws regarding disabilities & employment.

Yea i am in the US. Its been hard for me to find and keep a job but working at Ulta, Sephora or even Lush Cosmetics which will be opening where i live soon would be amazing. Im not really gifted in makeup application but i am willing to do anything from restock and helping customers get familiar with certain products.

Thank you for all your advices. My parent also immigrated to USA and I had to learn everything on my own and also help my family in the process since they don't speak English that well. I always felt stuck and not able to pursue my dreams because I feel the need to help my family first.
