I'm 57 years old and live on $1,009 dollars a month from social security disability for pelvic arthritis. I pay rent with a housing voucher. I'm no success story. When I look at people living in raw poverty like this I am amazed. I would lose my mind in a very short time. But these people take it in stride. I commend their upbeat attitude because I would walk around miserable all day long. The great writer Herman Wouk once said, "No adult is without problems except a happy imbecile." I'm no imbecile and that's why I'd be depressed and unhappy all day long. Knowing full well I'm missing the good things in life drives me mad!

Ah Peter-Pan-reincarnate! The 'Venice Beach Treasure' known as 'Chip Monk". He's always the best of all your interviewees. He communicates twice as much in a few words than most of those characters pontificate in four or five paragraphs. His soul and intellect are fathomless. Yet, there is some dark demon lurking deep within that keeps him prisoner unto himself. I wonder if he'll ever learn to get out of his own way and become ALL that he easily could be in this society?
