1:19 What actually happened there was that they had a warning on the display that there was a door open on the aircraft. The instructor then told the student to move the door around a bit to try to lock it. When the student moved the door, it flew open. The air resistance was too high to get it back in the locked position so they turned around and landed back in the airport they departed from safely.

They we're both strapped in and at an altitude that they can both breathe. While pretty violent, the aircraft and occupants can both handle the door being open in this case. You can definitely tell he was aware of all of this and calmly lowered the prop speed to allow the student to pull the door down. He had his hand on the throttle and pulled back within a few seconds. Great example of proper aviating.

Why wouldn't he be calm did you ever see those ww1 airplanes with absolutely no cockpit out in the elements,also they did go at absolutely freezing heights. Or acrobatics made on the tip of the wings,whats the big deal of opening the door a bit or better having a convertible plane.
@rwill156
@rwill156 Жыл бұрын
No big deal, I've had my door come open in flight in a Cessna 150, where you are practically pressed against the door with how narrow they are. But they have a more car like opening door, so the airflow keeps it from opening far, this one has the gull wing type door, so there is a lot more drag and possible damage. The worst are the tilt up canopies coming open, there have been crashes because of that.

So, the other day, I was walking through the woods when I saw a deer staring right at me. I froze, unsure of what to do. The deer just kept staring and staring, and I started to feel uneasy. Then, all of a sudden, it spoke to me! "Hey, buddy," the deer said in a deep voice. "You better watch out. I'm not just any deer. I'm the Deer One." I couldn't believe what I was hearing! The Deer One? I didn't even know there was a Deer One! But before I could react, the deer continued. "You see, I have the power to give humans nightmares. And you're next on my list." I ran as fast as I could back to my cabin, but that night, I had the most terrifying nightmare about a deer chasing me through the woods. The Deer One had unlocked a new fear in me! So now, every time I see a deer, I can't help but wonder if it's The Deer One, coming to haunt me once again.

It's not advised to panic as you will quickly deplete your air from panicked breathing. IIRC, no matter how hard you try you will never get the door open because of pressure difference when your vehicle is sinking. Until the pressure inside the canopy is equal to the water pressure outside, you need to be able to lift tonnes to open the canopy. Which can only happen if the whole thing is flooded. So panicking will do you no good.

2:47 Yeah no, pigeons are morons. A year or two ago a pair was trying to build a nest on my window's still (the outside part). There wasn't nearly enough space on it for a nest, the wind kept knocking out the twigs they flew up there, and THEY kept knocking out the twigs with their tail feathers when they'd turn around. It was completely exposed and there are kestrels living in the area plus smaller birds like magpies that wouldn't hunt pigeons but would happily snatch an egg (seen it happen, pigeons kept trying to build nests on our balcony - and sometimes would succeed and lay an egg before we'd found it, once they made a nest under a medium sized wooden chest we keep there which has like less than 5 cm of space underneath it - until finally we'd put net around it when we got cats; anyway, we saw a magpie fly up and grab the egg when the pigeons were gone), also the nest would be exposed to the sun for half the day so maybe the egg or birds would overheat... assuming the egg wouldn't just roll off and fall 9 stores down because there was so little space there. And yet those moron parents kept trying to build a nest in what had to be the worst location ever for weeks before they finally gave up.
@lineavictoria2631
@lineavictoria2631 Жыл бұрын
Yeah and do you know why that is? Because people used to have pigeons as pets. They took them in, fed them and made them depend on humans to survive. They were bred to be domesticated just like cats and dogs. They were deeply loyal companions who loved and followed their owners... As the evolution went on and more and more generations of domesticated pigeons were born in captivity, they fully forgot how to take care of themselves. And then someday everyone just went like “nah...we dont want yall anymore” and suddenly left all these poor birds on their own, only to breed more generations of pigeons with zero survival skills - in the wild. They are now completely helpless while people make fun of and terrorize them because of something humans did to them. Why do you think they are so common in crowded places where most other birds would be afraid? Because they still crave human contact. But people love to hate these poor birds. So yeah, pigeons have shitty nesting skills and dont know how to take care of their eggs properly...Because humans, once again fucked up nature. You should feel compassion instead of making it sound like they are naturally simply stupid 💔
@catxborsuq1
@catxborsuq1 Жыл бұрын
@@lineavictoria2631 oh I know, I am an archeologist, I had a course on archeozoology at college and they mentioned this. It's just hard to have compassion when I had to throw out pigeons and their nest off my balcony or deal with their chicks shit if they managed to lay an egg (its then illegal to remove the nest in my country, even if its something as common as pigeon) for over 10 years ;p On a similar note, I have a theory about why birds are so cocky, coming up to humans to eat whatever we drop and stuff like that; they all never realized that they are no longer dinosaurs xD
