What is more heartbreaking about this is, no matter how abusive he is to her, she is signaling that she loves him and would like to be his wife and have children with him. She certainly suffered a lot of abuse in her early life. For him is business and power, for her is love. He plays her like a violin, he degrades her but promotes himself as a benefactor. So sick.

She doesn't love him. Noone hates this man more than she does. She is psychologically trapped. Like a really bad Stolkholm syndrome laced with deep fear. If she saw an opporunity to completely get away with it, her brain would suddenly reset and she would slit his throat without a second thought. I guarantee you, she has thought about it a thousand times. This is how I know - on the occassion she looks his way, probably as he's lying about all the wonderful things he does, she has a steely glare and barely rocks. Those were her moments of clarity.

It isn't fake to offer empathy to people who fall for their own weakness of being controlled by their sex drive instead of being in control of it. And calling them "hoares" and blaming them all for their situation is actually adding to the imbalance of placing all responsibility onto them when their circumstances, being on the street as you call it, also has a part in this. I get the importance of your point about free will. But many people in these situations aren't in fact operating from their free will, as they are in fact controlled by their emotions and then by others. That's why they deserve some sympathy. And the women trapped in these situations deserve help and support, not condemnation: being the "weaker sex" out on the street is condemnation enough.
