3:47 I have observed many young people using "aralin" instead of "pag-aralan" and I'm attributing that to the evolution of any living language. Aralin (ara-LIN) used to be applied as a noun that means lesson. Now in its new application, a-RAH-lin can mean "to learn" or "to study." Decades ago, Pilipino purists would throw a fit to hear anyone say that. Carry on.

Thank you mam for teaching this lesson. May I just ask why is it that the words work, furniture scenery etc. Are recognized by the dictionary with S?
@celestinev47123 жыл бұрын
The noun scenery can be countable or uncountable. In more general, commonly used, contexts, the plural form will also be scenery. However, in more specific contexts, the plural form can also be sceneries e.g. in reference to various types of sceneries or a collection of sceneries.

I've been thinking about this all my life and still confused. What really is correct, well taken care of or well taken cares of. Please enlighten me on this Teacher Myra..
@larrynarvaez11462 жыл бұрын
@ pia abrigo, Well taken care of. The phrasal verb is “take care of”. The ONLY word (among the three) that changes in form because of person, number, tense, and/or voice is TAKE. Examples: TAKES care of, TOOK care of, is TAKEN care of, was TAKEN care of, were TAKEN care of, has TAKEN care of, have TAKEN care of, has been TAKEN care of, have been TAKEN care of, had been TAKEN care of, etc. Here you see that ONLY the verb “TAKE” has changed in form. The word “care” never changes in form or spelling. Peace.
