I have never enjoyed a series more than this one. It's been a revelation watching your methods and thinking process all along the way. The finished quilt is just amazing. It is exactly what quilting should be about - happy, fun, creative, freeing. I am definitely buying the pattern booklet for reference and hope I can free up my rigid sewing habits and allow myself to play with my fabrics and enjoy them. It's been an inspiration.

I am starting to watch this series at the end and will definitely go back to the beginning. It is fun to see HOW MUCH FUN YOU ARE HAVING. Years ago, I was in a house block exchange. I made my block to resemble my childhood home and put a plant in the window. I look forward to seeing your finished quilt and how you quilted it. Now I live in a city that end with the word Forest. Might be fun to put the houses as my childhood neighborhood and a road to my current home with a paper pieced orest preserves nearby..maybe a welcome to sign to mark entrance to current city. Thank you for encouraging creativeness and locking the door on the quilt police in our mind while making this quilt. I cannot wait to play house with my blocks.

This is my favorite kind of patchwork ! I love making all kinds of different blocks within a theme and then finding a way to put them all together. Adding here , trimming there. Creating a story as I go. Using different methods like you with fussy cutting and paper piecing . I call it Intuitive patchwork because it doesn't follow any set rules. I just make it up as I go along and have so much fun trying to put it all together!😁 I'm really happy to find someone else who does this kind of improv patchwork. Your finished quilt top is absolutely stunning! So fun and colorful!😍

Love, love, love your wonky house + quilt! I have been making wonky things for about 30 years. One of my first classes I took was with Gwen Marston and I bought her book Liberated Quiltmaking. U should be proud!!! That is one of the most beautiful quilts I've ever seen. U are a girl after my own heart. I used to go to a quilting group and they only did all the traditional quilt patters with the exception of 1 or2 girls. But none out of the box really. I drew some pics of my favorite chocolates on muslin colored them in with crayon and wrote Gumps saying Life is like a box of chocolates. You never know what you're going to get. Then had all kinds of candy fabric around it. I also took a coffee mug and drew around that and put chocolate material for hot chocolate, added some Mittens, snowballs, a snowman, some pine trees, a fireplace and some other things. Made one just like it for my daughter. The hot chocolate was sitting on a table in front of a window with icicles on top of window with steam coming up from chocolate and it had tiny marshmallows in it. I've made a chicken quilt for my daughter plus some other goofy type chicken hangup and a cat quilt for me out of previous cats I owned. Still got a lot of ideas plus I've made several other quilts...none traditional. Lol. Keep coming up with ideas. Will be watching. Love the title "Liberated Quilts". That's what I will name mine too. I didn't really have a category to put them in. Now I do! So thanks.😊
