Hi Andrea! Such a calming space. If you are ever in need of an idea for a video, I'd love to see you arrange some of your florals. You do such a great job of putting them in crocks, vases, baskets, etc. All the florals in your home look so realistic. I have a similar "old" crock like the one at your fireplace and I'd love to dress it up for Spring and put it in my home somewhere. Of course, you do a wonderful job with all your decor but for me, and I watch several people on YT, you are the best with your floral arrangements! Lilacs are my favorite flowers as well. Just love the look and smell of them!

I do not change much in my home. But what I do change is just a refresh of moving something from one place to another. I have used more artificial flowers this year to perk things up. All on sale ! The mantle color is soothing and really blends well with your colors. Decoys are perfect. Family heirlooms creating are. Love it!! Hope you are well. Hugs to those adorable boys.❤️Leslie

I recently bought a cloche and clear glass cake stand for $1! :) I'm originally from Spokane, WA, which is the 'Lilac City.' Alas, I live in east TX and it's too hot to grow them. I'd love to find some authentic looking lilacs for my spring decor.

I originally wanted HIM to make me a hanging light with it... but it is hard to teach an old dog new tricks....especially when he can’t see your vision or chooses to ignore your vision 🤷♀️ So mine is decor like yours...and I love it ! Your Lilac video was incredible! How I wish they would last like carnations do in the house! And the smell..... can’t recreate that! in the 1960s when I was a school girl, Mom would start spring cleaning. We'd come home from school and the whole LR would be changed around. This is how Mom created a fresh new look for NO money at all, and she didn't get tired of her furniture though it was old and even slipcovered in a splashy gray background red and green floral with red piping (imagine THAT image! -- very 1960s). While the TV and hifi cabinet stayed in the same corner, and the piano was on the opposite wall, the sofa, easy chairs and end tables would be moved around. It was always a delightful surprise. Your ducks are just swimming north, right? Ha, ha. They bring nature inside as do your flowers. I love your little white pitchers/creamers. Sweet. Also that old stool. So hard to find things like that. Your decorating always gives me so many ideas. Don't forget books for your children! You can keep them in baskets to "disguise" them. We would take home a brown paper shopping bag of books for our two kids when they were young -- we'd go every three weeks. We kept them in a special spot so they would not get mixed up with their own books. It worked great and they could easily devour a bagful of books in three weeks. One library even had a receipt that listed all the books so we could check them off to make sure we hadn't forgotten any of them to return them. We always had to check under the seats in the car! Your LR is such a pleasant sunny space. You have a beautiful home.

As retirees our home seems so much more cluttered. I need to work on that since I am always telling other people how to declutter which is pretty funny. Our daughter the pack rat still has stuff stashed in our closets. Ugh! As a person with two Etsy shops I do have polymer clay and yarn stashed everywhere. So definitely not as tidy. And not as much white -- my walls are mostly a pale butter. Our home is a combination of traditional and arts and crafts furniture as well as a few antiques. I display lots of samplers I both sewed as a teen and later designed as a cross stitch designer, lots of my paintings and a few art pieces from our travels. Things that remind me of home, family and childhood. I could add a basket of flowers on the inside of a door like you do. It's a delightful look.

Your living room is so peaceful. The creamware pitchers on your bookcase look pretty with the paint color you’ve chosen. I also like the crock with the white flowers. I dust my faux florals by taking them & my blower dryer outside & plugging it in. Use low speed. I think seasons can determine how we rearrange our rooms. For example, if you have a fireplace, in winter you tend to create a cozy arrangement of furniture nearer that, and bring out the afghans and fleece covers. In spring or fall, a chair moved by a window to take advantage of spring green trees or autumn colors, can be wonderful. And in summer, placing seating beside a window that will be open to catch a breeze is ideal. The way the sun enters the house is also an influence. In summer if you don't have AC, you want drapes or shades you can pull to keep the sun's heat out. My Mom used to go around the rooms closing and opening drapes. If the sun was hitting the window she would close the window and its drapes; if it wasn't they would be open to catch any shady breeze. In Fl almost all homes have AC, as basic to FL living as heating is in winter climes. The heat and HUMIDITY of FL hit you like a wall when you go outside, so we all do our gardening so we are done by May when the humidity really hits. We are pretty much done, having just laid some sod in spots, and the garden centers are pretty much picked over. Right now days are warm but with no humidity it isn't bad working under a tree or in shade. And then we can do yard clean up come October after the heat and humidity leave and we have cooler temps and can break out the jeans, flannels and cardis. We are back in shorts and tees now. Pool is ready to swim in. I was raised in PA so I miss the spring flowers, lilacs and hybrid irises. But we do have Rose of Sharon and hibiscuses in many colors and styles. And our gardenias are blooming right now so you have that luscious fragrance. Azaleas are done blooming. Funny to compare climates and what grows in certain areas of the country and what does not. There is much to learn about gardening when you move to a different area of the nation.

I hate my fireplace built ins. They highlight the shelves, which I find very messy looking. No matter how hard I try, I can't style them neatly, and the items on them get really dusty. I think those kind of shelves are not great for everyday living. I had built ins in our San Francisco Victorian and felt like that too. You can put things there, but they often are false. They are not what we really want to display, but but instead what we feel like will look good displayed, and that just feels false. I would rather have a door on there to keep things neat. We are fixing this with our remodel.
