This poor Kawasaki 650 ended up on its side after throwing a drive chain. Owner couldn't get it to start for two weeks...let's see what's going on!

That's a new one to me as well, I can honestly say I have never seen that before..Thanks for posting it.

Had the same problem last week on a lawn tractor. New seat/needle in carb (blew out the jets while I was there), oil change (all fuel), and new plug. Neighbor said the tractor never ran that good after the repair made.

A friend of mine had a Kawasaki street bike and he told me that this happened to him once. Couple of weeks ago I was cleaning the minibike carb and fuel came pouring out of the carb after I started the engine. Yikes! Fortunately I caught it right away so no crankcase to drain. Fun stuff. Thanks Ivan!

So your carb had an overflow tube? This one clearly did not haha
@garrisonb45346 жыл бұрын
Baxrok2 my klr is doing this as well but not when it is running what did you do to solve it on your mini bike?
@SmittySmithsonite8 жыл бұрын
Been there many times with the fantastic ethanol-diluted swill MA sells as fuel. :) Surprised it even started! At least the engine's clean now, lol!

I'm impressed it ran at all. Great save.

It coughed to life after a 20-second WOT crank! Must have been a good battery.

That has oil viscosity index in the negatives! Good for those really cold Canadian winters...

The float was stuck. Throw compressed air into the overflow tube and it'll start. Gotta clean carb..... same issue with mine. I'm stuck right now as we speak. No air compressor. Wish me luck. I wanna watch the debate tonight :(

Yup stuck open float. Debate should be fun 😁

My vfr750 had the same problem. Fuel out the exhaust and in the crank caused by a faulty, stuck carb float.

Jeez Ivan never seen that before.....

I hate to say it but I was kinda hoping for a good back fire through the carb lol. You know, just to make a good interesting video :)

I thought the extreme gas flow into the airbox alone was camera-worthy! And those valves must have been sealing 100% for the combustion to occur on the right place lol
@SouthMainAuto8 жыл бұрын
motoYam82 Dude that was awesome! Making its own fuel lol. Def camera worthy!

does it have a vacuum actuated petcock on the gas tank? replace it with a normal fuel petcock

The crankcase is full of degreaser . Haha

Wow… The oil/fuel drained out with some serious force. Wasn’t expecting that. I’m surprised the oil/fuel didn't get up into the cylinders and hydrolock it.
@PineHollowAutoDiagnostics8 жыл бұрын
Actually that did explain the original no start no crank complaint lol
@todayintheshopbanksy59048 жыл бұрын
Like you said, that is one way to do an oil flush.

have a quick question when you replace a MAF sensor do you get it from dealer, or from any brand in particular ?
@PineHollowAutoDiagnostics8 жыл бұрын
OEM only, so dealer is your best bet.

clogged air vent on top of carb change the vacuum petcock to a manual.

Wow... luckily it didn't hydrolocked.

WHAT!?!?!?!?!?!?!? WHAT!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?! HOW THE FUCK IS THAT MUCH FUEL COMING OUT OF THAT THING? That is insane. I have never seen one that bad. I cannot believe it didn't hydrolock the engine or blow the thing sky high.
@cojones85188 жыл бұрын
Fuel float in the carb probably stuck open when it crashed and the gas ran down the PCV tube into the crankcase.
@zoidberg4448 жыл бұрын
+CO Jones I saw a big ridable lawn mower spraying raw petrol out the air filter and the exhaust at the same time once. But nowhere near that amount. Still enough fuel that it didn't explode though. That is some trippy shit.

well it wasn't a lack of fuel to the engine!
@volvo098 жыл бұрын
The same thing happened to my dads motorcycle after we trucked it 1300 miles. He forgot to shut off the fuel so one of the carb floats must have stuck or repeatedly been jarred with all the miles being in the back of the truck... we got there and he couldn't get it started and it stank like gas. Opened up the air filter housing and gas was in there, so we dried it and pulled the oil plug, there were the 2-3 gallons of fuel! haha.
@garrisonb45346 жыл бұрын
volvo09 how did you fix it bc my klr is doing this. Take the carb apart?
@rrmech118 жыл бұрын
Holy Mole
@GRowe19788 жыл бұрын
I've seen two strokes do this same thing. Sometimes they'll bend the rod if the engine manages to fire. Once the piston gets below the transfers, there's nowhere for all the pressure to go. That's an expensive and time consuming mistake!
@PhattyMo8 жыл бұрын
*jaw drop* Holy...Shhiii.. Wow!
@eddiemartinez2658 жыл бұрын
Why did you leave out the rebuild of the carb and fix!?
@PineHollowAutoDiagnostics8 жыл бұрын
Time constraints lol! This bike also broke the clutch actuator rod so the entire crankcase cover had to come off too...the owner just wanted me to take a "quick look" at it :) Hey at least I got it running haha

A fuel filter won't prevent it from flooding again. lol.. He needs to just put a cheap lawn mower valve in-line-- as a double safety.
