Just hiked this today! Thanks for the video and guide. I’m only living in CA for a year and your guides have been helping me make the most out of it.

Did this hike yesterday, as well as a hike to Bertha Peak via The Cougar Crest Trail. Awesome hikes both! Thanks, Cris, for all the great videos and hike descriptions!👍

This looks like the perfect trail to take my pup. She overheats in summers, so this one looks perfect. Short, shady, for her and a great view at the end for me. Thanks!!

Yes, it's a great dog hike and I always see folks with their pups here, have fun!

You the best . I grew up doing these hikes , not as often as you . So , why aren't the fire roads used a little bit more . I used to hike the black hills on forest service rds .

Ah thank you, and yea, still lots of great FS roads out there. I think we're just spoiled with the amount of trails. Love riding my mountain bike on the FS roads in this area, shaded and peaceful.

Thanks for the video. Did you do this hike this month? We hike CougarCrest trail last Wed. Used your web site. A nice hike. We hiked Pineknot last year the end of June, and there were a LOT of wildflowers. Did you see any? It is very dry this year, so I wonder if there are as many. Thanks!

Thanks for the videos! Are all three big bear hikes you posted feasible in one day? Or did you spread them out?
@Hikingguy3 жыл бұрын
There's a ton of trails in Big Bear - more than a days worth - but you can def hit 2-3 in a day with a nice lunch break.

Do you ever get up to the Redwoods or plan to do any videos in Northern Cal?
@Hikingguy3 жыл бұрын
I've done a bunch of NorCal hiking before I started the website but haven't been up in a couple of years. Hoping to get up again this year and get some guides up on the site.

@@Hikingguy it would be nice to hear your experiences and views on ticks and tick safety (if you haven't done it already)
@Hikingguy3 жыл бұрын
@@ejs93033 good suggestion! I'll add that to the list. I was actually one of the first people to get Lyme's Disease in Pennsylvania (years ago) and have some experience. Luckily the tick situation on the west coast doesn't even come close to how bad it is back east. Stay tuned...
