Very nice review. I just bought a set, literally, minutes ago, based on your review. Mine will be shafted with KBS Tour 90 satin shafts. Thanks again.

Congrats! I really enjoyed testing them out and was surprised by their quality and performance. They were easy for me to transition with playing single lengths for so long. If you’re coming from variable lengths, then you will probably need to work on the mental side of it to commit to the same setup and swing for 3,4,5 and then 6-w. But overall, will make the game easier.

This concept make sense to me to keep gapping between long irons more consistent. Hireko Golf in CA sells heads for $19.99 except 3 and 6 which are $29.99. Not sure why 6 iron is more expensive than 4 or 5 so have sent message to Customer service. I have assembly my own clubs in past so may give them a try. Thanks for this update on Pinhawk!
@SimplifyYourSwing3 жыл бұрын
I think for those that swing too hard with the long irons, yes, this solves the problem. The 3 and 6 are solid heads, therefore the added cost. I enjoyed them, and my buddy has seen great results with this same set.

@@SimplifyYourSwing Value Golf website has a lot more information on these clubs than Hireko. They both are selling them at same price. Now you're going to get me in trouble with wife for buying more golf clubs! Just quick update, both Value and Hireko Golf have this irons in stock now. I ordered the 6-PW and Hireko shipped it this morning. I order from Hireko because they are CA based and I should get shipment in couple of days.

Lol. Value golf is the actual owner of Pinhawk. So that would make sense. They may charge the third parties more for those 2. I just had a chat with Aaron from Value Golf a few weeks ago. I know they were backordered for a long time, like won’t be able to fulfill until almost Christmas or later because (just like everyone else) they can’t get their parts in. As far as the wife…welcome to the club, lol. But now that this “pet project” of mine is producing some $ (more lessons than KZbin - still a long way from bigger $ there and being able to film everyday because it will be full time) it’s a little easier to buy some stuff 🤣

Nice that you have checked these. I'm not convinced as being a pure Pinhawk SL guy and believer of the pure one length concept. 🤘🏻😎🤘🏻

I was in the same boat. My recommendation would be if you’re already comfortable with your irons at the single length, don’t make the switch. But, if you’re new and worried about the 3, 4, and 5 or you just switched to single length and are struggling with those clubs, these may be the perfect option.

@@SimplifyYourSwing Good points. I went with the 4H and 5H on the Pinhawk and absolutely love those 2 clubs. My only wish is I had made those two clubs incrementall 1/2" longer than the 6I-LW. I ended up going 8I length on all clubs. 7I was just too weird with wedges.

I have pinhawks sl now. How does the distance compare of the Vertex 6I to SW to Pinhawk SL 6I thru SW?. I bought my first set of Pinhawk SL in 2011 and severaI sets after that. I am hoping the Vertex being a newer design will give more distance in the 6I to SW compared to the Pinhawk SL. They offered PH SL 5 thru PW at the time. The 5I was 25 degrees and 5 degrees separated each club. They had a blue or maybe it was green medallion on them. Several years later they modified the SL line to make the distance gapping better and added a few more irons to the set. These had a black medallions on them. With this said the Pinhawk SL basic design has been around for over 10 years. I still love them but am looking to gain a half club with the Vertex. What are your thoughts?
@SimplifyYourSwing Жыл бұрын
The 6 you tend to get a little more out of it, but 7-sw is pretty much the SL labeled as vertex. I loved them and thought they were awesome but you won’t see much difference from 7 down

Thanks for video. For a beginner. it's better to start with vertex dual length or single length when you just using a max iron number 4 ? ty for answer
@SimplifyYourSwing Жыл бұрын
You can’t go wrong with either! Both are great options for beginners. You’d probably want to go the single length to start to work on the swing. Once your swing improves, you can always go to Vertex. But single length will be the easiest and most consistent for beginners

Awesome video! I kind of do this already. I have single length 5-GW and have my 56 and 60 in 'standard length'. Since they are different brands they are actually within .25" in length so nearly one length. I don't think I would prefer that many irons in a second length but I really do like the concept. Keep the content coming!

Thanks! I think these just provide an additional option for those that struggle with the shorter 3, 4 or 5. I was really impressed with them

There was a company years ago named IDS golf , Or also IDS hockey. They made a 3 length set. They were amazing. I want to say they may have old stock bot no longer made. They were called Mirror image irons. I think this will be the happy medium if someone decides to make them again.
@SimplifyYourSwing3 жыл бұрын
Someone else had mentioned them to me. I saw some old stuff but couldn’t find any. There’s some old stuff I’d love to try and compare. The old Tommy Armour single length set is on my bucket list, but can’t find a full set.

What’s more forgiving? The vertex or regular pinhawk SL?

Considering buying a set of these, just wondering if my 6 iron will lose any distance being the length of my 8..

You won’t. The technology is good in these. Gapping will remain consistent and yardages stay normal or you may even gain some.

How is the distance of these. If the shorter iron are the length of an 8 iron, how is the distance on the 7 and 6? Typically the longer the shaft, the more distance you get ? Same on the 3 and 4, if they are cut down to 5 iron length? Thanks
@SimplifyYourSwing3 жыл бұрын
The distances I found to be almost identical to my gamers. With their background in Single Length irons, these guys know what they’re doing and I was very impressed with this set. They just make the game easier by eliminating the need for a different stance, ball position and swing for every club and instead, only need 2 swings for these irons.

Trouble with 3,4,5 irons = hybrids or maybe the hollow bodied hybrid- irons ( Cleveland Launchers etc). Compared to trying to hit Cavity backed long irons the hollow bodied irons are much easier, especially of your swing speed isn't fast.
@SimplifyYourSwing4 жыл бұрын
Kym Stock this is true. But I think the 4,5 being cavity backed are really nice, though longer, but the 3 with a solid body does remind me of the cleaveland launchers now that you mention it. Really nice option

I agree I had the zu85 2 hollow body iron and it was so east and a nice soaring flight as well and it felt great off the face . I’m Certainly down with hollow body long irons
