Introducing yet another tropical summer treat for your skin... It's a coconut lover's haven! Scented with a beautifully rounded blend of coconut (obviously!), fruit, and blooms on a base of vanilla and musk, and featuring creamy coconut milk in the bar... this soap smells as delicious as it looks beautiful.
This is yet another bar that was inspired by Brambleberry's latest #IslandOasisBB collection, have you checked them out yet? I've already gotten my second (larger, I might add) order to make more!
This time, I made a pink background because I've found that most of my soaps have been various shades of blue and purple recently. It's not often that I use a lot of pink! I was a little worried that my gradient for the shading inside the coconut hadn't worked out (judging by the way that the loaf ends looked before the cut) but it did and added so much dimension to it! As did the ground walnut hull powder and soap shavings in the shell itself, giving it that slightly fuzzy and rough texture I was going for. I am so excited about these!
Once again, this is another original composition which I had drawn out on paper with along with several others for this season of warm weather and vacationing. And I will share these behind the scenes photos soon on my Instagram page!

Super neat soap! But I'm so curious...what do you do with the soap you scrape off with your stencils?
@CreamyObsession
@CreamyObsession 3 жыл бұрын
Thank you! I do whatever I feel like in the moment, whether it's just putting the batter in small individual cavity molds, piping flowers for future soaps, making smaller loaves for samples, terrazzo or confetti soaps, etc. For example, with the pink portion and leftover brown shreds, I made the driftwood and white hibiscus soaps that are on my instagram page, feel free to check those out! instagram.com/p/CRzmsC0H_h4/ I often show more of what I do with these in my posts there. Most importantly, nothing every goes to waste and I scrape every drop I can get :)

Soap is absolutely stunning as always and looks really 3D! I’m curious, how did the squeeze bottle work out?
@CreamyObsession
@CreamyObsession 3 жыл бұрын
Not as well as I had hoped, but that was more due to me over-blending the batter. The most important thing is that it turned out without any air pockets :)
@sky3light
@sky3light 2 жыл бұрын
Wonderful, thank you 💖 May I ask you how the oven heat does not cause cracks in the soap?
@CreamyObsession
@CreamyObsession 2 жыл бұрын
Cracks in soap don't necessarily occur from just heat, but rather when the temperature inside the soap is a lot warmer than the temperature around the soap. This difference causes the top to cool faster than the inside and the soap cracks as a result of this. In the oven, the soap is brought to the same temperature as its environment, and it cools gradually along with the air in the oven. The consistency in temperature prevents cracking. Hope that explains it somewhat!

Sorry so many questions last few days but I really want to buy this one and one or two more stencils.. do you give tips and tricks for me know how long to let each layer sit and approx how much soap to use for each layer so I have enough or not way to much ..
@CreamyObsession
@CreamyObsession 2 жыл бұрын
I do provide tips and tricks for using the scraper sets, but these are more technical advice. As far as how long each layer sits, this will vary based on the recipe, fragrance used, trace at which the soap is poured, temperatures, colorants, additives and more. In example, a fragrance that slows trace down may take 6 hours to set up to a consistency that'd be good for scraping, while one that accelerates would need to be scraped 1 minute later. You can always use a toothpick to check the batter in your mold and see if it is holding its shape yet. Also, as far as how much soap to use per layer, that varies with different mold sizes and would need to be calculated on your own. Feel free to email me at contactcreamyobsession@gmail.com if you have any other concerns!

Hello! I did a 5% lye discount, I let my soap sit for over 24 hours. Can you please tell me WHY my fragrance disappeared and WHY is the soap a soft hard? It lathers very well, creamy in spite of the other problems. Thank you 🌹 PS! This was my first time trying the discount, but soaping over 2 years. Still learning.
@CreamyObsession
@CreamyObsession 3 жыл бұрын
I think a 5% superfat is pretty standard among soap makers, I've never had issues, even when going up to 20% in certain recipes. I'd say it was your fragrance, not all retain the scent through saponification. I've had fragrances fade or disappear as well, usually their molecular structure isn't strong enough to be used in cold process soap. That's why it is important to use reputable suppliers and read reviews, as well as conduct tests with them in your own products. Some may seem expensive at first, but the quality is worth it.
@CougarLyfe

@@CreamyObsession I use Nurture Soap, who can you suggest for me to try please? And I didn’t add any hard oils, do you think that’s why it’s hard soft? Thank you for responding back to me. A fan in Miami 🌞🌹
@CreamyObsession
@CreamyObsession 3 жыл бұрын
@@CougarLyfe Nurture actually does have some great fragrances. Perhaps you didn't add enough. I'm not sure what you mean by hard soft, as the two contradict each other. A good recipe usually will have atleast a 40% hard oil to 60% liquid oil ratio, although there are always exceptions. I really can't tell you exactly what happened since I don't know what you did, what you used, etc. If your soap is still soft, then you may need to wait longer to unmold. Or perhaps you miscalculated the lye, or maybe got a false trace and it separated. There are just so many factors to consider
@CougarLyfe
@CougarLyfe 3 жыл бұрын
@@CreamyObsession well, it may sound contradictory, but the bar is firm with some softness to it. Maybe after I let it cure, hopefully it will have hardened 💯%. I just don’t know how else to describe it, I guess like a man who’s facing impotency. 😩😂😂 I hope that you have a sense of humor
