Game 1, around 20 minutes: Missed Ankh damage from Mishra's Workshop. Next turn plays Mishra's Factory and doesn't take Ankh damage. Plays 2nd land of turn(?) Strip Mine and does take Ankh damage. :o Ironically, the 2nd land of the turn thing was kind of glossed over in the commentary, but not specifically mentioned. JUDGE!!!

Jelle gets cool Points for the combat medic. I was in love with this card back in the day. It made a big difference in those long games

Is Anson’s version also your favourite art?
@jasonfry2582 ай бұрын
Definitely! I always loved the weird beast with the large forelimbs and the red "medic" symbol on the side. It reminds me of the red cross from the real world. Anson was one of my favorite artists of old school. My first born son is named Anson, actually. Not because of my love of the game, but because we liked the name and it is unusual.

The Aeolipile, what a card! Where's the Conch Horn?!

Love the conch horn, used it in the past with Sindbad 👌

@@TimmytheSorcerer Remember: "Even the most skilled of modern mages only partially understand the Conch Horn's awesome power." I use my Conch Horn in Urzatron, the draw 2 on command speeds things up nicely. The Sinbad is a nice touch 👍

Not to be a stickler, but Aeolipile pronounced (ee-ol-i-pyle). Loosely translated from Latin as "wind sphere".

the sad reality with decks like these was that eventually you would realize that the deck would be better without the funky titania's song (or other fun win card)
@TimmytheSorcerer2 ай бұрын
I always al myself the question: Why do I play OS? Why this format, instead of any other? Obviously the answer is a personal one, but one that has a great impact on how you brew a deck.
@Blackadder752 ай бұрын
@@TimmytheSorcerer I wasn't very clear, I meant back in the day in the 90s when we played these old formats 'for real' of course now things are different and you can play whatever is the most fun
@TimmytheSorcerer2 ай бұрын
True, I actually never played Titania back in 95 (when I started). My understanding of the game was so so basic 😂 What deck did you used to play?
@tobiaspause17752 ай бұрын
This looked so pay to win, "I have barely a strategy, wincon or removal, but... I have broken ass cards!" Not saying that is true, there IS a strategy, but you do get the Feeling here.
@TimmytheSorcerer2 ай бұрын
I think that a well tuned RW deck can actually win. Blood Moon and Shatterstorm from the sideboard for example would’ve been great against this deck. Also the usual burn can get you a long way, but I think Jelle played kore mid-range cards.
@tobiaspause1775Ай бұрын
@@TimmytheSorcerer Never doubted that. I was just talking about the Impression it gave to me.
