I'm here for this buddy! Long time Pink Floyd fan here, since I first heard this incredible album in 1973, I was 17 years old. Pink Floyd is a Legendary band, formed in London in 1964, they've sold hundreds of millions of albums worldwide. This album, "The Dark Side Of The Moon" is possibly the greatest Rock album of all time, certainly in the top 3 I'd say. That's not just me and other fans saying that, many Rock Critics agree! The album has sold over 50 million copies and counting, it was on "Billboards Top 100 Albums Of All Time" list for an astounding total of over 960 weeks, that's over 18 years! More than twice as much as the second-place album. The album, like many PF albums, is a Concept album, it tells a story that's intended to be listened to in order, and in one sitting if possible. Kind of like a movie or book. The songs flow seamlessly from the end of one song to the beginning of the next. The album is about Life, Death, Money, Time, Greed, War, Insanity, and the human condition. The Death part of the album is the song, "The Great Gig In The Sky", you'll understand when you hear it. The album opens with a heartbeat illustrating the beginning of life, it also ends with the heartbeat fading out signifying death. Just so you know, Pink Floyd is the name of the band, not a person. Pink Floyds' roots are in Blues, and they took their name from two old time American Blues guitarists from the mid 1900s, they are,... PINK Anderson, (1900-1974),... and FLOYD Council, (1911-1976). Looking forward to watching you react to the rest of the album. Today at 67 years old, it does my heart good to see young, intelligent people like yourself, learning about and listening to the musical magic that is Pink Floyd, one of the GOATS in Rock Music history!

This album celebrates its 50th anniversary this year, and its music and lyrics still remain relevant today. This is what we call: "A Classic". And a classic is a work that has never finished saying what it has to say.

In the 70’s we called this Head Music- it took you places even if you weren’t high- but we were definitely high when this was on. ❤

Actually my favorite Pink Floyd song is whichever one I'm listening to at the time. Also Pink Floyd just happens to be my next-door neighbors favorite group, whether he likes it or not!! The deeper you go down the Pink Floyd rabbit-hole The more you will realize it's very hard if not impossible to have a favorite Pink Floyd song!!! Also you'll find the more you listen to Floyd the more you'll realize that their lyrics are very deep and very relevant mostly because they're impossible to date by how they sound since they are their own genre and nobody else sounds like them!! Songs that you will enjoy listening to: Comfortably Numb. Time. Echoes. Us and Them. There are so many more but any one of these will really catch your ear!!!

As a long time PF fan, 50+ years, I love watching the younger generation like yourself hear some of the greatest music ever made. There is no comparison, they are a genre all to themselves. Enjoy the ride, deep rabbit hole that you'll probably be listening to from here on out, lol. Im subscribing to watch you get Floyded and I like your style. You seem to appreciate music which is a universal language and NOBODY does it better than Pink Floyd!

I hope you will allow us to go on your journey with you. You will be glad you dove into Pink Floyd. You will never stop listening. This is a life long ride and we who are 60 and 70 years old are still on that ride. We hope you will pass this gift on to your friends and family. I hope one day when your older you will get the same enjoyment watching younger people discover this as we do today. Take your time and go through their entire catalog. Then we can talk about Yes, Genesis, Led Zeppelin, The Who, Santana, Rolling Stones, ELP, King Crimson, Supertramp, Robin Trower, Moody Blues, ect. Are you up for it?

Try doing all of side one in one post, and then all of side 2 in the next. Then just let it flow. It's the only way to fully appreciate all the transitions to get the full impact of the album. Also, interrupting the transitions into the next song to announce the next song kinda ruins the flow. However If you feel you must, be sure to go back a few seconds to preserve the flow. It's one of the things that makes this masterpiece so special. 👍

Nicely Done..When you do the next song, I suggest you go back a little to the last few seconds of breathe because all of these songs bleed into each other, there actually is no space between songs.. This album is basically one long 42-minute song, broken into 10 parts. the noises between songs are part of the story.

The next song "on the run" is more of a soundscape. If you listen to it by itself just go in with the context that it's building atmosphere for the rest of the album and is telling part of the overall story of the album. That's the only pure soundscape song on the album though. The Dark Side of the Moon album is actually preserved in the American Library of Congress for its cultural significance.
