Oh girl!! I don't run screaming from too many furniture refinishing challenges but anything hot pink to start with is a deal breaker for me!! When my pupils stopped burning I could see your paint choice (or any paint choice really) would be an improvement!! And tell me the truth... how many naughty words escaped during the drawer runner fiasco?! At my house a drunken sailor would have blushed and I would have given up and spent the remainder of my day making a "free fire wood" sign!! So, on behalf of the worlds landfills, I want to thank you for your undying optimism!! They turned out great!! ❤

Oh, I love what you did with the nightstands! But I gotta say, it’s unfortunate nite stands were in such sad shape prior to painting because I loved the hot pink too! 😜 The beige is much, much more sellable. I just love seeing items saved from landfills. I’ve always believed in recycling and the older I get the more I appreciate young women like you, who give older furniture a second life!

Love the change in color. Whoever you got it from, did "the best to their ability". However, it was kinda a disaster, cause it really wasn't properly repaired before the painting. Which put you at a disadvantage on what you could do for your roi. You did a fabulous job as always, this color is sooooo much better❤❤😅😅

Yeah, I didn’t look them over close enough. It’s always a little awkward when you’re right there with the seller. 😬 I have passed on pieces, but since this had a maker’s mark I thought I’d be good. Once I saw all the damage though 😩

Hey Lisa! Awesome save of the nightstands & having that foresight on the repairs for someone down the road. Thanks for the pro tip on the drawer liner! I always screw stuff like that up lol I’m not sure what your market is like but I think $500 for the pair is fair. I have my Poppy’s dresser that is now really old & in need of some love. It thankfully is physically sound - its exterior just really looks its age. I’m going to guess it to be from the tail end of the Art Deco era. I want to breathe new life into it & I want to be the one to do it, but I haven’t refinished furniture since the one desk I did as a 4H project when Shep was a pup & I tend to believe KZbin makes me an expert 🫣 This piece has no monetary value but is priceless to me. Do you have any thoughts on how I can get past my “perfection freeze” & get to doing, instead of waiting for the exact right idea to hit?
@ivylane-home24 күн бұрын
Ha! I tend to be over confident and just dive in. 😅 Seriously though, just start. Refinishing is just a series of steps and you will eventually finish if you just keep going even if you have to pivot. You got this 👊

No. Not this project. I pity whoever pays for these side tables. You allowed to be scammed paying $80 dollars in the first place (I guess a charitable action to support a fellow furniture flipper) If I bought these tables only to find out where they started off (not the color, the water damage!) I would feel totally cat fished Sometimes we really have to not let ourselves get carried away with flip projects Possibly good candidate to donate to someone starting out that needs furniture for their home and has no means to buy it

BTW…Use “farther” rather than “further.” “Farther” is about distance, and “further” isn’t about physical distance. Yes! This is coming from an English teacher. LOL!!!
