What do you recommend for the small specimens or ants that are luring into the insect? Is there a way to erradicate them all?

Hello! I've just watched some of your videos on wet specimen storage and I have some questions I hope you will answer! I've just had my fallopian tubes removed, and I'll be picking them up in a few weeks from the lab, I want to keep them as wet specimens! I watched your video preserving your sons placenta (congratulations btw I know it's a little late) and your video on proper jars specifically. I'll be watching the calf wet specimen video next. My first question is; is there a safe way to store them in formaldehyde in a tiny jar, and be able to wear it as a necklace? Second, if I add glitter in it will that cause issues with the chemicals over time? Also is there any sort of dye or colorant I could add to the formaldehyde in order to change the color, without causing issue? What about glow in the dark glitter specifically? My plan is to preserve them as best as possible, and I'd like to add glow in the dark glitter or just regular glitter in a darker liquid than formaldehyde usually looks, without making it super cloudy or anything if I can. I also would love to be able to wear it as a necklace if I want, without worry of leaks onto my skin or anything. I was planning on using a corked bottle, but now I worry if a cork even dipped in paraffin wax and sealed would be safe close to my skin? What would be best? Also is there any type of glass I would need to be weary of? Of course I know very thin or easily broken glass but like any specific makeup? I want it to be a tinier bottle of course so I'm just not sure. I'm really sorry for asking, but apparently most people don't know the answers to this, so I hope you will respond and tell me. It would be a massive help, as I want to do it right, the best way I can, and as safe as possible. Thank you!

Hi. And thanks for watching my videos. To be honest, i have never had any experience trying out any of the things that youve asked because i am mostly a natural history collector and enthusiast, and not doing it from an art perspective. And i really dont want to ruin your precious bodypart because you followed my advice. But still i will try to answer ur queries mostly based on logic. Please corroborate my advice with that of someone else who mostly do art with wet specimens and have a good experienc dealing with such. First, glitter, is basically plastic component which is essentially inert to formaldehyde. So i see no reason why it wud cause a problem floating around in the formalin. Although i am not particularly sure about the glow in the dark kind. The chemicals responsible for the glow might dissolve into / be destroyed by the formalin. So i cannot advise you on that one. Regarding the container for necklace. You can use acrylic/ plastic type tubes maybe? If thats a thing. That wud never shatter. The mouth can be sealed with heat or using silicone sealant. Regarding colorant, i see no reason why dyes such as food grade colorants cant be used. If you are not worried about the specimen itself getting lightly coloured then you are good to go. Having said all that, i reiterate what i said earlier. Get a second opinion from someone whos had experience making art from wet specimens. There are also great social media groups that deal with these things. Facebook's Skull collecting group, Wet specimen preservation techniques group , The Dead Collectors group are few examples i can suggest.

@@TheSingtangpaScienceGuy thank you so much for your advice. I don't use Facebook alot so I didn't even think of that as an option! I'll definitely check it out though! Thank you so much for the advice you were able to give me! I'll update you after I figure it out and create it! Again, thanks so much for the advice and the pointer to Facebook groups. ❤️❤️❤️
