Also, Pinocchio selling his book was in the original story (even about the coat). And the reason why the Puppets knows him is because in the original story they were made out of the same wood. In fact the whole cartoon is almost spot on with the original fairytale.

There's literally nothing about it on the internet save for a (seemingly unrelated) Commodore 64 game, and the terrible boxart. The boxart alone has me intrigued since the game could either have visuals that awful or it could just be straight up Pac-Man and misleading like some of their other box art. I assume gameplay-wise it's just a really lackluster Pac-Man clone, but it's the most mysterious game I can think of that Phoenix Games put out there. I can't even find a copy to import from eBay. Did Phoenix actually release anything here in the States, anyway? All the PS2 games they released all seem to PAL-exclusive.

I re-watched this video recently and this soldy thing still bugged me so I started digging. Appatently "Soldo" [polish: sold or soldo] is a Italian medieval silver coin. It remained in use until 1862. Soldo was also used as a term for soldier's pay. Following the SJP PWN, "Soldy" is just an inflection of that word. Also "soldy" can mean (slang) "sale" (end of season sale to be exact). The book was published in 1883, 21 years after soldo was no longer in use, but it still uses it as a currency (I checked both Polish and Italian editions to be sure). Pinocchio has to pay 4 soldi/soldy for a puppet show. Quotes: "- A ile się płaci za wstęp? - Cztery soldy. " "- E quanto si spende per entrare? -Quattro soldi" So they more or less got it right. I'm just not sure why the f*ck did they use Polish instead of Italian?! Teatr Marionetek = Puppetry Wejście = Entrance fee Here ya go, the mystery is now solved :) Yes, I have no life...

You know... I could actually almost say something positive about this "game". ALMOST. And what is that? The fact that it actually follows some aspects of the book more closely than the Disney movie. In the book, Pinocchio really was a little asshole at first. He actually mocked his father, sold the book in exchange for the ticket, was called on stage by his "brothers", given the coins, and was hanged in the tree. And the giant creature that swallows him wasn´t a whale either. THAT BEING SAID, HOWEVER... I am NOT, in any way, praising the animation or the "game". It still has terrible animation and laughable voice-acting. And even if it follows some aspects of the book, that means nothing when the cover (AGAIN) clearly is ripping off Disney´s version of Pinocchio and Jiminy Cricket. Plus, I doubt the guys at Phoenix REALLY read the book. They probably just copied another adaptation of Pinocchio and placed the Disney rip-offs on the cover in their classic attempt to trick people. Well, that being over... it was great to see a new review, Tennings! I particularly liked the breakdown after the story was that brutally rushed (and that donkey scream at 7:06) and the brutal but well-deserved beatdown of Pinocchio in the end. I would LOVE to see what the next person that walked through the alley thought when they saw the remains. XD

Animal Soccer World, which features what may be the funniest portrayal of hooligans ever, and Dinosaur Adventure, whose "dinosaurs" don´t even resemble ACTUAL dinosaurs, are just two of the many "incredible games" they have made. Well, despite the delay between your videos, there's always something that's worth waiting whenever a new one (eventually) comes. It's definitely not game quality, I can say that much, but maybe it is the sheer endurance that you put to the test whenever you touch something with Phoenix's "seal of (quality) removal". At this rate, all Phoenix games will be covered in some way by you, and then it's off to the asylum for good because they tore your patience to pieces. Yes, you could argue that they already did, but it doesn't look like it. Not yet, at least...
