This song gets to me every time I hear it. It's such an incredibly beautiful way to describe that numb feeling of regularity that pervades a depressing stay-at-home life. There's that longing, irrational hope that somehow your experience could be looked at by another person and loved for what it is, like with what we do with our favorite TV shows about characters with fancifully dull lives that we can relate to, but then we realize that we went the entire day without doing a single thing of interest, and we lose even that hope. And this song is like the cry for help from that state that I've never seen portrayed in any other medium. English doesn't have the words to do a song like this justice, either.

I know I'm literally just adding on to the endless sea of people suddenly starting to process their personal traumas related to isolation and relationship-nuances but i really do want to say this outloud because I've been to this song on loop for weeks. Full disclosure I'm autistic and Vocaloid is my special interest, I am never not thinking about it. PinnocchioP is and has been for years my favorite artist. Vocaloid makes me very happy and was really my only way to recover from the extreme depression [exacerbated by gender dysphoria] in high school (and now, I'm 19.) This song absolutely hits all the buttons labelled "For a Therapist to Deal With... One Day." This coupled with LAST CONTINUE... insanely captivating. This song specifically brings up so many things... That feeling that comes along when you realize that you're not broken, and you're not unworthy of care. The specific jealousy that sits in your 14 year old self, the jealousy they feel towards you for getting better, for leaving them behind to live freely. it nudges you to forgive yourself for changing. 'those stories that can't be adapted to public film... that cant be adapted to manga. shitty fantasy days go on.' some experiences are so specific and strong that they can't be translated into another medium. not storytelling, and not video; nothing but the actual, lived experience. these thing can't be dealt with by just retelling it, you can only finish processing it by living it again, with your new frame of mind. You have to go through it again and validate your past reaction. you have to validate yourself by continuing on. 今日も過ごしている。 and Camben's comment was right, English cannot do this song any justice. PinnocchioP has made my years of Japanese so so so worth it. Thank you, PinnochioP for making this fucking astounding song, I am so happy you exist.

@@AA-rs4gq it took about 3 years, I went to college and passed Japanese 1, 2, and 3. I haven't started jpn 4 because of corona but I'm going back into college next semester. Honestly Japanese 2 was the hardest. After Japanese 3 I'm able to learn new grammar rules from using the language. I live in Texas so not a lot of actual people to talk to in japanese... But I listen to vocaloid constantly. I haven't really looked into the jltp tests. I just practice by writing and thinking very very hard about lyrics. I'm also in touch with my classmates who are currently in jpn 4, they help me a lot. Okay my 5 favorite vocaloid songs in no particular order: 1- crappy fantasy days (pinnocchiop) 2- rolling girl (wowakap) 3- anaguragurashi (kikuop) 4- what's inside (pinnocchiop) 5- I'm glad you're evil too (pinnocchiop) These are just my favourites, not necessarily the best in the world. But I think my #1 fave will always be rolling girl. Everything about it is just so good. It's such a classic oh my god.

@@oskar2914 I just got into Pinocchio P recently (September 2020) with what’s inside being the song I first decided to give a proper listen to on KZbin. It’s crazy how one song got me into vocaloid and how Spotify having song names in Japanese helped push me to learn hiragana and katakana to read them. Maybe one day I’ll learn enough Japanese to be conversational, but I unfortunately have no interest in taking classes (especially after getting very little out of Spanish classes from 8th-12th grade).
