Matt asks Dave Rubin why he dedicated his book "Don't Burn This Book" to Ben Affleck. Dave describes a now-famous moment on Bill Maher's show when Ben Affleck blew up on the host and started shouting "Racist." Rubin says it opened his eyes to how the Left explodes whenever you try to talk about topics they don't agree with. Watch the full clip to find out more.

Gx Qx It’s the emotional tirade that’s the giveaway. That’s not the response of a rational person. Instead, it’s the response of the person whose faith is questioned and who doesn’t understand and doesn’t question the bases or limits of that faith. It’s a reflection of willful ignorance, not the naive ignorance that anyone may share on one subject or another.

Remember the part of the movie 2020, The Year We Make Contact, where they discovered that the computer HAL 9000 was ordered to lie, and this led to its irrational activity? I think this is what is often going on with people like Affleck. It is not that they lack the intellectual capacity, but there is a mental block in the form of progressive ideology that prevents them from using the cognitive abilities that they have. They repeatedly experience cognitive dissonance, and this makes them angry. I find it helpful to remember this when I am talking to a progressive. Their anger is not really at me, but at their own dissociative confusion.

kelly walker . If you place “Hollywood, as a whole”, on your list, and others do the same, maybe things could change. I’m not holding my breath on that statement though. Research the actors, who have been ostracized, by Hollywood and you start to see a pattern. In almost every case, they are free thinking, center-to-right, leaning actors who have disagreed with “THE ESTABLISHMENT “ and wreaked by the MSM, for their political views. It’s, Silver or Lead, as the saying goes. They eat their own!

It wasn’t mocking religion. It was criticizing dogmatism in religion. It was also criticizing society for giving up its values. Have you even seen the film? It actually says religion and belief in God is a great thing as long as you don’t believe in it as an ideology because you can shape your relationship with God and faith instead of following what MAN tells you to do about your relationship with God. How is that bad? The Bible even talks about this. To avoid bad shepherds who actually turn you away from God. Don’t criticize a movie until you’ve watched it yourself.

I remember when Matt Damon mocked Sarah Palin for daring to think she could be the VP when she was just a woman, a soccer mom and not intelligent enough for the job, was the first time I realized the left were not what they claimed and some of them were pretty big aholes. Affleck is a just something else altogether. He is tolerant for all the wrong reasons. He's the guy that says but its their culture to beat women, so it alright. They don't mind.... I can't stand him. Its not tolerance its cowardice and a willingness to allow anything as long as you're getting what you want.

Affleck gets agitated and hyper emotional because he realizes he really isn't particularly intelligent. He's angry knowing he's inadequate to think on the same level as those with whom he disagrees. As a side note, I think Bill Maher is beginning to open his mind more and may be able to grasp and change his thinking about cultural issues. At least one hope so.

There's a psychological pathology regarding getting an emotional reaction towards an verbal argument. The violent reaction is really the attempt to silence a conversation, Ben just got to a point where he couldn't handle the conversation and conclusions it was leading to. But that provides more insight into his own reality and world view. Ben Affleck felt so distressed, to threaten to his own intellectual (pseudo-intellectual) opinions that he had to end the debate that has taken place. It really just comes from a position of weakness, because he couldn't determine any other argument than to violently silence the discussion and move to an ad-hominem attack. The issue is that Ben Affleck is the best possible reaction your going to get from an indoctrinated person. That worst? Well you're seeing that right now on the streets trying to burn the world around them...

It’s been an urban elite rule that one shouldn’t discuss religion or politics. Here we are now, people have grown up not knowing how to have a debate or conversation about beliefs and values without being emotionally overcome, offended, or hurt. It’s not a good thing for society to have generations of people who don’t know how to have a conversation, because when words fail, violence is the only recourse.

I think it showed the pervasive wokeness of Hollywood and how a famous person with so many funds to donate to whatever political agenda he wants could be so crazy. Harris said perfectly reasonable things about Islam, especially when you remember that he's trying to convince people that atheism is better than dogmatic adherence to an irrational faith.
