I am discerning a vocation to the Discalced Carmelites and just made my second visit to their monastery and met with Fr. Michael Joseph Paris. He is a wonderful priest, and I am excited to listen to this episode. Please keep me in your prayers as I discern my vocation.

This sent me down a deep dive into the Carmelite order after about an hour in, and I'm floored by how God is filling my heart! The way they pray, their commitment to our Lady, the total surrender, and their way of living and evangelizing; it all speaks to my soul. I'll be praying a novena to Our Lady of Mount Carmel to see if God is calling me to a vocation in the Carmelite order. Please pray for me.

Read The Fire Within for a good start with Carmelite spirituality. It's one of the best books on prayer that you'll find. Radically changed my prayer life.

I always appreciate when Matt throws in a comment about praying the rosary with his kids. It is not something that I do very often, although I would like to. And I am always inspired when he mentions it in. I appreciate how he does and sugarcoat it... It's tough to get kids to sit still and pray reverently, but I love how He and his family persevere and continue to do it. The beauty is in the imperfection, love it! This channel really is the best

He probably wouldn't like me saying this, but Father Michael-Joseph is one of the most solid and uplifting priests I've ever worked with and every day I get to assist him is a pleasure. Honestly a great man, glad to see him getting recognition he probably doesn't want :)

As a Protestant I love his joy and zeal, and I laughed heartily during the bit about the “accomodation of scripture” because I appreciate his candour. 😅

Desde España este humilde Carmelita de sonrisa fácil ha transformado mi vida: he vuelto a la vida sacramental de un católico laico. Y todo por la espiritualidad carmelita y sus santos y como lo explican.

Oh my! Thank you for having him on!! I have been watching CarmelCast since it started. Carmel led me into the Catholic Church 14 years ago. St. John of the Cross is my patron saint. Also, Our Lady of Lourdes had a 6 decade rosary. The OLOL statues show that. The best show I’ve watched on here. 🤎

I've been wearing a brown scapular for decades. I keep my medical alert tag on it. It is the one way I can be 100% certain to be wearing that tag.

I love this! Father Michael Joseph has been such a teacher for our family from the moment we came (and came back) to the Church (and I’m sure he doesn’t even know how blessed we feel by him 😅 mental note: share that with him in person!). One of the first talks that really stuck with me in our community was his talk on St John of the Cross, and our whole family has loved learning more about the Discalced Carmelite spirituality ever since. The Discalced Carmelites are such a blessing for us near Holy Hill and the surrounding area and I hope many more people come to know, love, and appreciate the gift we have. Thank you for having him on! Your show has been a blessing for someone new to all of this, and it’s great to see a guest who personally grew my walk in some way ❤
