Despite Lillard being so good, I can't ever forget what Brandon did for this franchise. His play is just so natural. A fundamentally sound guy that was also unselfish. Just something that you don't see very often, but things are looking real good as well. Happy Birthday ROY!! Never forget

Never forget how electric it was at the RG that day. If you're a fan of BRoy, you know how hard that season was for him. 3 time AS reduced to 6th man, and probable early retirement, right in the prime of his career. Nobody wanted to believe it was happening. Blazer Nation, even B himself was in denial. Truth was he was finished. But for 1 Sunday in April, he turned back the clock and put in his most clutch performance ever. I get chills when I hear Wheel's call of the 4 pt play because I remember the lows from that season. I still get sad when I think about B, but watching this helps drown the sorrows.

ROY could have been a top-50 player all time had he been healthy. Certainly a HOF'er. He had size with insanely smooth and sneaky athleticism. He posterized Chiek Samb. Anyone remember that XD? HE WAS THE HARDEST PLAYER TO GUARD according to Kobe and Ron Artest both being quoted saying that. He had a first step that was so smooth yet fast bc of his size. one of the GOAT!! Long live #7 GO BLAZERS!!
@UndeadItachi25 жыл бұрын
To be honest he never hit his prime. He was injured since college. Just more injuries in the NBA decided his career. He still was impressive. Wish we could have got a healthy Roy for 13-16 seasons.

#TheReason The reason Portland started believing, the reason why they televised Portland on National TV. The reason more and more seats became occupied, he's the guy who rescued the franchise from the worst phase in history 'Jail blazer' era. Brandon Roy is Portland's super hero. Blazers being the only true major sport in Oregon, makes Brandon Roy a true North West Hero. My all time favorite

I was at the game. No one wanted to leave. We all wanted to stay in that moment. But as we left, the 20 minutes we all shared making our way out of the Rose Garden, two chants filled the halls: "Let's go Blazers" and "Brandon Roy" - Most amazing NBA moment in my life time. Dude re-built the Rose Garden and put it on his back this game. Great vid!

Something I can never and will never forget. The first coherent memory I have from a game I’ve watched was this game. The pure love we all have for that game is always sparked by something, it being a moment, or an experience. This was that for me. The chills to this day place me back in that room, the sun just peaking through the heavy clouds and the game on. The feeling of pride that the man I’d just seen do what he did with the pain I could barely even imagine he was going through. Absolutely legendary.

Since I've been watching NBA Basketball, there were 4 outstanding performances: Thompson had the perfect quarter Kobe scored 81 T-Mac destroyed the Spurs in the 4th Quarter with 13 Pts in 35 sec Roy lead the Blazers Comeback vs. Dallas But Roy impressed me the most, he had such a special, easy looking, magical and smooth game, which I've never seen again. He is not such an actor like Lebron, he is still on earth with both legs, despite the fact he is probably one of the best players of all time! His Retirement could make me cry every day :-( will never forget you #7 keep ya head up and enjoy life :-)

well, if you consider his knee problems and so on, it is defenetily one of the greatest playoff performances of all time ... he equalized such a huge difference by only focusing on the money time, because he couldn't play more. Changing your style because of an injury and being successful with it is very hard

Knowing that he’s done but he’s in denial… that all heart man… all heart. His passion and love for the game tells it all. He’s almost unstoppable… that comes from the best of the best (kobe and artest) . That night, most of the player with his situation would rather sit it out because they don’t have those knees anymore… but roy is one of a kind… he played through the pain and led his team for a W… it sucks man… those freaking injuries ended his career… a BRoy fan for life here 💪

Career Stats: 18.8 PPG, 4.3 RPG, 4.7 APG, 1.0 SPG Career Accomplishments: 3x All-Star, 2x All-NBA honors, Rookie of the Year (2007) Teams: Blazers, Timberwolves When Kobe Bryant says you have no weaknesses in your game, that's saying something. At one time, Brandon Roy was arguably the third-best shooting guard behind Kobe Bryant and Dwyane Wade. Simply put, he was the Tim Duncan of shooting guards and who knows where "The Natural" would've placed in the NBA history books if injuries hadn't got the best of him.

Agreed. Brandon Roy better get a ESPN 30:30 Doc. HOF for sure if played more. POR with LMA, ROY and of course Oden would have changed the course of NBA history. Incredible that 6 years after drafting Roy 6th they Drafted Lillard 6th.

So much drama happens and ultimately this video shows the End of that era. The fact that you're seeing this video gives you a hint how loyal and passionate the blazer fans are.
