everybody bitching about the lack of a 2nd usb for laptop... the overall design of this is to be a "STANDALONE" mixer. Buy a couple of vinyl decks or even some CDJs and get rid of the laptop. This piece is still 5 grand less than buying a nexus2 set up.

I have two technic 1200’s and now the xdj xz. sucks it did not come with a full license of serato. So i had to buy Serato Suite and serato control vinyl which added another 500 for a total of 3 k! I was told it came with serato from Sweetwater sales rep. Now I can use dvs and vinyl too according to this video. This is the only video that shows it can be done on the whole web.

Hi, I used to try this console while I was playing on some Open Deck. But I've been told it works only with recordbox.. so I always transfex my playlist from serato to recordbox. It would be way easier to work only on serato but how I can do that ? Another question is how to make rekordbox wave line so colorful as its in Serato? In rexorbox i get it only while and blue...

Question, my club just bought one of this,...but, my Macbook Pro has MOJAVE 10.14.6. 2012. Will it work if I connect it directly with the USB port in the back ? I've been trying but doesn't seem to work. DO I need to install extra software on my Macbook ? I have Serato DJ Pro software on it.

How can I get that sound when he presses the first pad on beat jump at 10:58? I grew up in NYC and DJ Red Alert used to play that sound in his mixes so I call that the DJ Red Alert, but really don't know the name but have always wanted that sound. It amazes me that there are product managers out there that are ignoring the rest of the world. The switch between two different computers is almost a must nowadays. This workaround with the USB stick is yesterday’s technology.

@@fschirott I was wondering the very same thing bro. To think its such a key feature that multiple DJ's rely on, and they being the club standard is definitely something that have should never overlooked. I'm not sure when it wasn't a good idea not to include it. I mean they obviously thought about it, but instead went with a work around. The shortest distance between 2 points is a straight line, but they went with a walk around before getting there, a bit annoying and disappointing at the same time.

Input settings on the top of the controller. Computer/Line/Phono.. Also check output settings within Serato software

It was the drivers. They weren't compatible with Mac OS Sonata. But they updated them now so it's all good.@@papi_roisterous

I was wondering if you or any of your viewers have had this issue with the XDJ Xz. My Hot cues, for a song, will trigger my four top pads as hot cues. But the bottom four pads will trigger my samples. This only happens on deck 2. Deck one will trigger all eight Hot Cues for a song. But not deck 2. I just purchased my XDJ XZ a couple days ago. I'm pretty sure it's something minor I touched. Does anyone know what I need to do to get my bottom four pads back to hot cues again? Thanks in advance

No in standalone it’s only 2 channel unless you have cdj or turntables etc connected to those channels

If it can switch to decks 3 and 4 in serato using shift shift, .... the only reason the zx can't do decks 3 and 4 with usbs is if they designed it to only use 2 channels on purpose... it's a software limitation. They should totally be able to release a patch to change this...

Yes. But USB tracks can only be viewed via the device screen and Serato tracks via computer.

Definitely a great video I do wonder what the quality of the mixer is. Pioneer has not put out a decent mixer in a controller ever. I had an sx 1&2 an sz 1&2 and sold all to get a denon mcx8000 just cause it sounds better there is a big difference imo. I’d love to go back to pioneer maybe this unit will be it.

VDJ works with almost everything. The upside to vdj is due to how the program is designed, it will always support any midi device bc of how open the developers are. The team behind vdj is phenomenal.

Skratchwiz I believe so according to the product page the xdj-xz is upgradeable for DVS. Really a bummer considering how expensive this deck is. Should of at least came w/free voucher code for the first 1k units like the srt was.

I appeciate your skills abouXDJ-XZ but Serato DJ in general is totally worst sound compared with Serato Scrach Live by Rane or Rekordbox. After a lot of tests between Serato DJ and Traktor i will choose Traktor sounds all the day. Before a lot of features you should test the sound quality. Also, Xone mixers are a lot better in terms od sound quality compared with any Pioneers mixers. Only one mixer from Pioneer (V10 maybe) can be compared with Xone 96 in terms of sound quality. Please do this test , after that be honest and let us know if i’m wrong - make this two comparations : 1. Rekordbox or Traktor VS. Serato DJ 2. Pioneer DJM Nexus or XDJ-XX VS. Xone 96

I have played on this and all I have to say is, until you can do all 4 channels off a USB it is overpriced as hell. You might as well just take the other two channels off the damn mixer as it would be better to go a full standalone setup if you have to plug in a computer anyways. I really don't know who this was made for as it does not fit well with professionals and is priced beyond the bedroom for what you get.
