I own rane 72 for a year, and I am very disappointed with it. I use to dj with ecler analog mixer. Sound was feed and recorded by burr brown converters (audient id22) and traktor software. My set up did not allow dvs so I went for Rane 72. I Did sound test AB and so on and it was not far, however after a year of using it I noticed that the sound of Rain is a little ear fatiguing, like the low and mid frequency are boosted a little. When mixing its almost impossible to match ecler. I start to think that digital mixers can't handle mixing like analog ones. I use it to mix all sorts but rather in a slow manner than quick chopping. I wonder if the old legendary Rane mixers sounded the same.

Rane has the more true analogue vinyl sound. Pioneer sounds more like a CD player

Wzup Andrehines, thank you for the feedback. At a time where steaming and digital content has taken over would that influence your purchasing decision (aside from brand and features)?

@@XFaderz Absolutely! Everyone has different priorities, but for me the most important is the sound. I don't dj at clubs, but rather scratch for hip hop music recordings, so the sonics are absolutely top priority because it's going to be mixed and mastered into a song. If I was dj ing clubs, then I would probably favor mixer features over the sound. No one is going to be able to tell the sonic differences in a loud club speaker environment
