Great video. My dad bought me a pl200 in 1980! It still works a dream, super quiet and rock steady. I was 13, now 56. ANALOGUE FOREVER. Best Wishes!!!

Cool. I just bought a PL-A35. Probably the coolest Pioneer I have encountered. Full Auto with 2 motors. 1 for the platter and one for the tonearm. Plinth is like a piece of furniture. The cork mat doesn't look great on that deck. Maybe if it was black. Lysol wipes cut the oily grime instantly and dry quickly. I like the lemon ones. Baby wipes are also good.

Superb job as usual. If that was my turntable I think I would have just changed the feet. Not sure I like that strange spring setup

the cantilever gets bent because it's too much anti-skate. when mounting the cartridge mount the cartridge on an angle so the cantilever is parallel with the headshell, that will sort out the problem. and it is advisable anyway even with a new stylus to have a slight angle twisted in a bit. with the incorrect spring you can just put a washer underneath and that will give you the same result. those non-quartz motors are better than quartz motors they don't suffer from cogging just make sure you have a conditioner when using the table orl build yourself an LC filter

Agree that a mat is a mat. They sound alike. Good rubber one is fine, if it's flexible. Yes, too much antiskate. Tracking force should be meaured without mat in pace.
