Steering wheel controls are enabled with the use of a 3rd party adapter. Many are available. No. Updating the firmware will not give the Pioneer AVH-601EX WebLink. I recommend to update the receiver's firmware for more stable operation. Nearly every Pioneer video receiver, including the Pioneer AVH-601EX, uses a reverse signal input to automatically open and close the backup camera window on the in-dash receiver. Do you mean an older model in-dash receiver? Or an older model vehicle? On supported vehicles, Maestro RR can give access to existing controls from the vehicles climate control system. For example: If you your vehicle has on-screen climate controls. And you replace the factory screen for a new screen, the new screen will need on-screen climate controls just like the original screen. That's what Maestro does. If your vehicle has hard button on the dash climate controls. When you replace the radio, the hard button climate controls remain the same, and will not appear on-screen. So, no that's not the only difference. The Pioneer AVH-601EX also has built-in HD Radio. The AVH-600EX does not. And the Pioneer AVH-601EX has dual camera inputs. The AVH-600EX does not. I love my new AVH-601EX but every time I power it up, the channels change by itself on Sirius XM. The back up camera warning (Objects may appear reversed)also comes on randomly. How do I fix this?

I recommend to press the microprocessor reset button. You'll need a paperclip or some other small point to press the microprocessor reset button. You can find the microprocessor reset button on the Pioneer AVH-601EX on the hard key panel beside the eject button. If this does not correct the issue and you are using a 3rd party steering wheel control adapter, the steering wheel control adapter may be programmed incorrectly, for the wrong vehicle or for the wrong receiver. This will cause random operation on the receiver. Please be sure to install the latest firmware for your Pioneer AVH-601EX. @@deckerdotto6035 Thank you for replying. I do have a 3rd party steering wheel control interface connected but not working. Could be grounded improperly. Already came with latest firmware so update wasn't necessary. I'll make sure steering wheel control interface is connected properly and maybe that will solve my problem.

This is not normal operation for a Pioneer in-dash receiver. I recommend to eject any disc that may be in the receiver and try a new disc. What is the model number of your Pioneer in-dash receiver? If you have the Pioneer AVH-601EX, I recommend to press the microprocessor reset button. You'll need a paperclip or some other small point to press the microprocessor reset button. The Pioneer AVH-601EX has an RCA video output. The Video Output is a yellow RCA jack on the back of the in-dash receiver.
