I always tell the young techs out there that are just getting into the trades, they should always go home and do some research on the things that you did that day. For example if you were talking about traps and their function while doing an install, you should go home and read about traps and look at diagrams in order to really understand and solidify your knowledge. I always learned the most when i went home after work and did my own research after doing the hands on work during the day. It excelled my growth substantially and i impressed those that were teaching me because they could tell that I truly want to learn and want to become a great technician. Its important to go above and beyond especially when you are a new tech in the field. Always go home and learn at least one new thing on your own time. Thats just my advice to all young techs out there.

I was the same way. Paid close attention, asked questions when confused , and always tried to find information on my own time. I am now 47 years old. For the past almost 22 years running my own business, I have had only 4 apprentices that actually wanted to learn. It is scary to think what will become of the trades when my generation retires. Sounds like you are probably around the same vintage as me. We are slowly becoming dinosaurs,😅😅

@@PipeDoctor Yeah I agree. Through watching your videos I can tell that he is growing, and is a good kid and works hard which are great qualities. If he just started to learn one new thing after work that builds upon what you taught him throughout the day, he would accelerate his growth exponentially over time. Maybe bring it up to him and give him homework assignments. Just ask him that when he gets home you want him to research whatever it is that you want him to learn about that day and then the next day you will quiz him on it. Some people won't do homework unless they are told to. I believe you shouldn't have to ask him to do this but if he's not doing it on his own then you will have to be the one to get him to do it. Have a great day Mikey.

Very nice install! There is some pretty high tech equipment out there but in this case its disappointing that the homeowner doesnt want to upgrade the wire and the thermostat. That being said I'm surprised that it isnt designed so the compatible thermostat will communicate with the system over 2 wires only, the wire serving as a mere data link..

So now you are back on the Bosch train after compalining about certain aspects of the company. Well, Bosch is basically a poor man's inverter. In 2012 I installed a 3 Ton Bryant 280A Evolution Extreme ($6400 installed) 16.8 -- 20 SEER/11.4 -- 16 EER/10.3 -- 13.0 HSPF and LRA of 16.5, and wish I had it here today in Central Florida to reap the performance and energy savings. The Bosch 3 Ton by comaprison with a high RLA of 19 (not energy star) EER max of 14 (12.5 w/3 ton AH) and HSPF of 10.5 using a 2 ton air handler according to AHRI performance data. When the unit runs full-out on these extremely hot days, it is costly with RLA of 19 when it's running as a 3.5+ ton and we always hope it evens out at the end of the month when the electric bill arrives.

Nice Install - understand the best way is to install new T-stat wiring, but for those customers that don't want a new, I've had a few installations using the Fast-Stat 5000 (smaller or larger) to get more wires out of what you have. Take a look at their products. And yes, it's a shame not using all the features of this system with Dual fuel, etc.. Good work.

Agree, any inverter unit will have the same issues and the technology is so new that when they break down most techs, even good ones will have a hard time trouble shooting issues.
