All the big KZbin plumbers and home builders love Rinnai. My brother has one and loves it. My opinion they are the best for tankless hot water.

I’ve always loved the Rinnai tankless units. I’ve got a RUCS75iN at home and it’s been amazing. Been installed about 8 years so far. Honestly, if the customer doesn’t need a recirculating heater I recommend the RUCS line over the RSC.

I had a Rinnai i090cn combi boiler installed around 8 months ago. 3 zones, 1700 square feet house here in Colorado. Thing is pretty awesome, hadn't had any issues yet. These are very fairly priced units (cost me around $7200 total to have my old tank water heater and boiler replaced by a licensed plumber.)

I love the half inch female by 3/4 inch PVC adapter!. Nice neat 3/4 inch PVC install into the condensate pump. That's exactly how I do it even though it's a pain in the butt on Cape Cod only one supplier stocks that particular PVC fitting! Wish I lived on Long Island Mikey.

I'm not sure about New York but in Massachusetts where I'm at if you draw your combustion air from inside the building you're no longer a Direct vented Appliance, you're now a power vented Appliance. Your 1 ft clearance to doors and windows now becomes 4 ft for the exhaust vent in my state

Why didn't you use the recirc capabilities of the RSC? I think you said it because you didn't have a recirc return line but you dont need one. You install that thermal bypass valve at the furthest fixture and it returns via the cold line. You would need to purchase the MC 195T recirc control or the WiFi module to make it happen. It works great! If not using recirc, you should have used a RU199, about $300 cheaper. Nice install!

Seeing the inside of this one surprised me because others I've seen have some sort of plastic somewhat see through flimsy cover with what looks like a circuit or something running through it and tags that say something along the lines of "do not remove"

Extremely nice install!!! But a question 🙋‍♂️ I am assuming them 2x4’s are plum??😂😂😂 just keeping you on your toes 😜….. But seriously that was a death trap the old unit… any slight down draft what so ever it would of blowed out the top hat 🎩 😮 That would of been one I would of like to tested for co2 while running… but looks like the basement had plenty of fresh air input to thin the co2 down… but Pipe Doctor potentially saved, lives in the future❤

Can't drain condensate in the sink or sanitary in these parts although many do...and call me old fashioned but I like regular old gas fired nat draft water heaters...lose power, still have a warm shower. And I don't think your saving much coin over the long haul with expensive power vents or tankless units.
@kat2641
@kat2641 Жыл бұрын
While this old timer does agree with you , simple and easy to work on.. in my experience, if we are talking old cupple? The only savings in the long run is keeping storage water hot. But in a family of 5? It did seam that the gas cost savings more than out weighted the investment cost. Have had a few perfect test homes where only the hot water was gas … and the cubic feet of gas saved? Did pay out in 5 years on average 🤷🏻‍♂️ don’t know just we got to roll with the times or get rolled out of business. However I do love simple things 😂

0:37 that is pretty bad. My ex bought a house in PoHo (Port Huron), and the home inspector told her that she needed a new hot water tank due to "melted plastic". The inspector didn't bother to scope out the hot water tank exhaust to see why it was dumping exhaust gases out the draft hood. Well, I did. The chimney at some point had bricks fall inside it, crushing the exhaust pipe for the water heater. My dad and I busted open the chimney and replaced the exhaust piping, then recemented the chimney. What a sh** show.
