Mike the directions on the venom pack are for a 1 gallon sprayer they do not apply to the Viper foam gun. You should put pure concrete in the Viper foam gun and adjust the dial to the appropriate concrete ratio.

I should watch the whole thing before commenting but, you’re just so exciting..instead of spending all the time scooping with your hands, buy some different sizes of scoops or dust trowels, you could really save some time cleaning out the debris..

While this might be a dumb question 🙋‍♂️ but I have ask is their a reason you don’t use a battery vac to do the condenser bottoms? The reason I ask is I use one for for all my condenser coils bottoms, and I love it for cleaning the dust up out of my residential furnaces an air boxes. Saves us a ton of labor over a year span.. 😂😂AN?? Hay we got to keep you second guessing to keep your blood pressure up 😅🤷🏻‍♂️… but it is just like the old unsettled question which is more efficient? Return air in the ceiling or supply air in the ceiling? Laughing for over 40 years been arguing that one… an honesty it depends on where you live on this earth, and how many months do you heat primarily or how many months do you cool primarily.. we all know both ways will work but what is the most efficient? An? Every contractor every technician will have their own preference..

I am NOT an HVAC guy. Just an electronic/elechicken type. I don't use dual capacitors,... almost never. In the dual capacitor you have an oil (liquid) or gel surrounding the two separate capacitors to facilitate cooling. This is not to be confused with the electrolytic that is inside the non-solid electrolytic starting capacitor which gives you your capacitance. (the larger of the two values) The smaller value run capacitor will be a non electrolytic type. Whether by design or sloppy production the sloshing won't affect an in-range, long functioning capacitor. Unless there is evidence of swelling, leaking or dried electrolyte, then different story. This should not be an argument to supplant years of empirically derived knowledge on the part of the HVAC professional. Just an observation from a different discipline.

Capacitors are low cost enough and make a big enough a difference to the health of the machine that changing them out if something seems suspect is a no brainer, but I have to admit this is the first time I've heard of "the shake test" for a capacitor. Makes sense since all testing microfarads out is doing is testing the capacitance, but not the oil level within it. Thanks again

@@HonshuHigamori like I said, that’s my reasoning and it makes sense. For a minute, condenser fan motor. When that starts to leak oil, the end is generally near BUT often they can still last for a couple more years. Not as inexpensive as a cap, but nonetheless still a failure of the part.

I live out in the dusty desert and have never seen that much debris on my condenser coil that needs to be removed during maintenance. One thing, when disassembling the cabinet,I wish that they would screw the screws back tightly. Nothing worse than missing or loose cabinet screws and a rattly sounding AC unit. There is one local air conditioning company that touts putting all the screws back in their ads. At the end of the day, nothing like clean coils.

I’m really curious Mike. I’ve been in this industry for decades. Your in New York State not Florida, California, Nevada or Arizona. I can’t believe how many units are on this house. Even if they were all just ton and a half or two ton units that’s between 7.7 and 10 tons of cooling. That house isn’t even 3,500 square feet. The places I see you guys working on and the amount of a/c seems like over kill. Sure you can cool the place like a beer cooler but what about the humidity. Your cooling without dehumidifying.

What are your thoughts on 5-2-1 hardstarts? I like putting them in basically every condensing unit i touch, am i wrong for that? Along with hard starts should i recommend a cap with a cpt terminal to drop the hard start out if it fails? I've only been in the feild 3 years and in that time have only seen 1 failed hard start.

Hardstarts are good for the compressor… if you get the OEM hard start made for that specific compressor. After market hardstarts are generally way to strong and actually can do damage to the windings.
