How much is a red belly in a pet store?How many can i keep in a 10 gallon tank?
@Bearskimethod5 жыл бұрын
Manvel Manukyan they cost about $10 for an inch long fry.. but I don’t recommend getting just one and you will need at least 75 gal tank just for 4 of them.. best in schools of 7 and up.. so a 125 gal is a good start.. 😉

paulsdrc There is a core purpose to nature though, unlike most hunting. They didn’t eat the frog for sport or because they enjoy it, they ate it to survive. Still think it is strange to enjoy this and I would hesitate to call it “nature” considering it was a forced sacrifice for the frog - in nature and in the real world the frog would have more of a chance because it could simply leap from the water.
@paulsdrc5 жыл бұрын

@baxter4925 жыл бұрын
Orlando marquez eduvate yourself. Red belly pirihanas are cautious predators making sure what they eat will not turn around and try to eat them as is their instinct from their ancestors living thousands of years in the Amazon. Rbp's are not the blood thirsty predators Hollywood makes them out to be. In fact it is very rare for red belly pirihanas to attack living animals larger than themselves as is proven in "River Monsters" with world renown fisherman/angler Jeremy Wade. He did an experiment with I believe 100 red belly pirihanas, did not feed them for days and literally lay down in a kiddie sized pool with them. The pirihanas did nothing. He even dumped some cow blood in too see if that would send the fish into a frenzy and... surprise it did not. They just tried their best to evade him. In the Amazon there is so much decaying flesh/food for them that they do not need to be aggressive. They have the luxury of picking what they eat and this owner is actually doing a fantastic job caring for those fish. They know more about how to survive than than you think. Awesome tank and setup. Keep the videos coming

I don't know about fish but I'm just wondering 🤔 is it possible that they don't like the right side of the tank because of the water fall bibration? I would think fish like this are extremely sensitive to water movement. That makes me imagine the right side of the tank is like we are entering a dark room for us.

Wow, it looks like they feed it to each other. The one holding it can't really do that and take a bite so they hold it out for others. Then they seamlessly pass it off to another. Take a bite, leave. They're so in sync it's amazing.
