I've always wanted a metal detector myself. Gold coins and stuff are great, but I'd get just as excited over finding old metal buttons from the Civil war era too. So many artifacts lay just inches below us.

Good to see you my friend! Black Sam was actually a gentleman and some of his loot was from other wrecked ships. There was no mention of violent take overs in what I read. Anyway, the Friday Savinelli took a break from todays video, but I smoked it before & after.

Great story, John. As a child of the 80's my semi-fascination with pirates began with The Goonies going after "one eyed Willy's rich stuff" from that 1985 film. It's why I've always tried to watch films set in the same town of Astoria, OR like Kindergarten Cop, The Ring, and Short Circuit. But that's a different coast :) Peace, Eric

My feline princess, Peek-a-boo, really likes it when you tell your stories. She completely relaxes, and lays her head down by turning it almost such that she's upside down, but the rest of her body is just on the side. That is her, "I am so happy" pose. That's what she's doing as we listen to your Pirate story. Great video. Thanks. - Tomas / NW7US

I did enjoy the story, not only because I take great interest in maritime stories such as this, but also because of the ultimate smoke that accompanied it. Thank you Alex, I meant to add at the end that this past summer, the explorers believe they located more loot along a path to the wreck. Perhaps the ship ripped open and continued moving closer to shore as it dumped gold and silver along the way.

John I love the Clay! The Churchwardens are my favorite ! They got their name by the night watchmen in the Church s . They would smoke those at night and rest them on The Church Pues and protect the Church. Love your History knowledge I can't get enough !!!😄I love to learn and these type are the best ! what is the rule for finding Lost coins today when they find a sunken pirate ship today ? you should write a pipe table book with these great tales in it . Tales from the Pipe!!!!would be a best seller thanks John !!

LOL, I actually came across an article recently that stated the length of the first clays was determined by the distance from the mouth to the arm of a chair. This allowed one to comfortably hold the bowl with the arm resting on the chair arm. The moral of the story? Always smoke a long clay in a chair with an arm rest.
