The Edmonton Oilers penned a deal with West Edmonton Mall to hold regular practices at the Ice Palace in the 1980's and 1990's. And just like the Calgary Flames with their "Beat them in the Alley" and "Fire on Ice" posters, the Edmonton Oilers released a special edition of their own! Featuring themselves dressed up as pirates!
Wayne Gretzky, Mark Messier, Kevin Lowe, Paul Coffey, Glenn Anderson... and the rest of the Oilers crew are all here!

Another wonderful video down memory lane! It's so easy to forget the world class skating that the ice palace has allowed some of us to enjoy over the years. From the oilers to the occasional olympian, it real allowed some of us to enjoy a show that we would not normally have a chance to see live.

It's more about nostalgia, really. Amusement park, water slides, submarines, it's a very cool attraction that millions have visited! And I'll take that over ANY church any day lol
