Notice the slow blink to the camera in the end. That kind of body language, for cats is a show of trust and or affection. I think its the devs saying thank you to the players. And for me this detail just sums up all the love they put in this game.

@ChaosWolf38 ай бұрын
Length of a game vs cost of a game. Time invested might be the phrase I'd use. Thing is, not all games are the same kind of entertainment. You can dump 1000 hours in some multiplayer shooter where you do the same things over and over against other players and that brings with it a competitive triumph and other feelings. However, a narrative game, a story driven game. That's more akin to watching a movie. The difference is, you get immersed because you're part of that story, you're the driving element. That is more comparable to the cost vs length of a movie if you're still trying to look at it that way. So hour per dollar is far higher, but the emotional aspect of that is a very different thing, something a shooter you dump 1000 hours into can never really replicate. Truth is, you can't really compare the cost to the duration in the same way simply because the cost to make a game like this you'd dump 1000 hours into would be impossibly high. You're paying for a very different kind of content and therefore paying a very different kind of cost. Another good game you could get this same thing from was Firewatch. That game lasted maybe 3 hours for me, but was a very satisfying experience despite the shorter length. You just can't look at it in terms of length vs cost like you can other games.

Thor, KZbin has suddenly been recommending me your content; and I have to say I'm loving it. I'm currently in my second year of obtaining my degree in game design. I started with zero knowledge / skills, other than having played games my whole life. I'm now quite proficient in 3D modeling / texturing (Maya, Photoshop, Susbstance Painter) and have become familiar with the Unity game engine and quite a few of it's features. The only thing I feel lacking in is coding, even visual scripting just doesn't really click for me. I want to be in a design position so I'm not too concerned about the programming for me personally. My main focus now and after finishing my degree is to really develop my portfolio with some nice pieces. I'm local to WA myself. Any advice for my future endeavors? If you read this thanks, if you don't read this thanks. Oh, also I just hit 30 this year if that plays into your response at all.

Hey dude I’m a cs major right now and have been following this thor guy for the past couple weeks. I suggest you watch his shorts because they can be quite motivational and informative for game maker type people. My guess for his advice would be that he’d say to just go make stuff. Make what you enjoy making. Or find a team or get on one and begin creating something bigger. Do your thing. I wanted to become an app developer so I just… started makin apps haha. You really can just make whatever you set your mind to within reason. So go make stuff! Have fun

Btw the best way to feel more competent from a coding standpoint is literally just to go practice coding. Go make a game with some interesting features in Unity which relies on (i think, based on the limited unity knowledge i have) scripting primarily. Those scripts can be anything from super basic to kinda dense stuff but all of it can benefit you. Or maybe go learn java and make some crap idk. What languages do you needa learn to make games? Dew it. Learn it. Game it!
