Do what brings MEANING and PURPOSE into your life. There is always some one who blew it bigger. 45,,,aint that old,Im 61and could say the same thing. Could/have/did,,just words. I do it this way.There was then,,,and there is now. I live in the now,and only refer to THEN to take from it the things I learnt that can help me in the NOW. You are fortunate you realise it.Just imagine,never waking up to the truth. Growth is some times pain full. The pain has a purpose. Go for it,consider all the things you really want,,,,Accomplished, They are in your future.You only have to bring them in to existence!They are waiting for you!

Grant Grindle dude you're still young, and if that's your picture, quite handsome. You've not pissed your life away, you're just getting started on part 2. Judging by your tone and candor, you are very likely a kind and honest man. Trust me, you're a rare commodity if we were to use a market place metaphor. I would suggest giving yourself plenty of time to wind down and come to a more balanced place after all the heartache and difficulty. You may not be healed in a year or two, but perhaps give yourself that much time, more likely to draw a healthier more balanced mate, if you're interested in giving romance another try. That's just my advice as a chick. You got this honey. Hang in there.

Thank you sir, I really needed this. I am 60 and I pissed away at least 35 years of my life; bad decisions ,missed opportunities, chasing stupid shit, etc. I feel like I can start over, I just need to critique; as you mentioned don't let food and all these roller coaster emotions not to control me. Thank you again, this video helped me.

That song won't bring a tear to your eye if you were a good dad. Awesome song by the way. Were you a good counsellor? Did you help the kids you counselled? If so, you didn't piss your life away. That being said, there is wisdom in your words. I was lucky, I was always amazed by electricity so I became an electrician, then a business owner, then a teacher of electricity then an apprenticeship coordinator. All related to my first job as a humble apprentice at $2.44 an hour.

It's 5:30am...I'm sitting here awake and just tired of feeling like I "have pissed life away." I'm 43, overweight, and never felt like I've had an idea of what I'm here on this earth to do. But I realize as I've watched your video that I have never really put together an honest game plan. Oh, I've flapped my arms really hard and never flown...but never really put together a plan for getting off the ground. Thanks for putting together a casual, yet serious, way to put some meaningful things into action.

25. Watching this in my dorm room at 2 AM. Junior year at a university I don´t really like, with a major I don´t really care about. Maybe I should've done this, or that, maybe changed that sooner etc. Maybe I should drop out, maybe I never should've started in the first place. I´ve watched hundreds of different people and gurus speaking about this stuff, so much so that I feel like I´ve fried my brain with all the different perspectives and so-called instructions, but this is the most genuine monolouge I´ve heard in a while. So for that I thank you. At least we're not alone.

I am 38 years old, went through a painful divorce in my early 30's, have little family that cannot really be relied upon, and a fairly small circle of friends (I'm an introvert). The little family that I do have faces issues that I have limited control over to ameliorate. The first thing I want to say is that it would be very easy for me to think I pissed my life away, as the "bereaving" over my divorce last a solid 5 years. I have had trouble finding myself in any relationship, and the dating scene is not treating me so incredible as well. I am definitely not ugly, and have a solid job that is close to home, so I know that these struggles are a product of trauma and childhood issues. But, having documented the point and place I am over the past 8-10 years, I have made incredible strides. I was 185-200 lbs (5'7") my whole life, and now I range from 165-175 lbs. I run 1,300-1,500 miles a year. My half marathons are usually b/w 1:46-1:51 (on a bad day). Realistically I'd like to be down to 155 lbs, but what matters is that I am far healthier now than I have ever been. I have traveled a sh*t ton....I recently ran 300 miles from Zurich to Salzburg, Austria over 25 days via the Alps with just a back-pack. I go to classical and opera festivals all over Europe on my vacations. I have paid down debts considerably. I am a run leader in a gigantic club in the NYC area....involving myself in group activities. The big thing I have learned, absolutely tremendous, is not to regret. Regretting is a beta mannerism which is a product of past humiliation, upbringings and relationships that were based on approbation-seeking behaviors, and the idea of "trying to make everything perfect". You cannot compare yourself to the person walking down the street...the slim 6'3" arrogant people that have received fortune, inheritance, and looks in this life. But in the end, these people have their own problems, and many of them are the biggest assholes you will ever meet. So, I am not preaching being complacent and letting yourself go as a product of pushing aside feelings of regret. But if you work with what you have, create reasonable goals, document them in a journal, you will create positive change and upward mobility in this life.......and that is something very few people are really able to achieve.

Thank you. I've been suffering in a relationship for 5 years now. She left a long time ago but I kept everything. I couldn't let go and its been poisoning my life. I've been stopped dead in my tracks for five years. I walk around with notes from her in my wallet and things from our relationship everywhere in my life. Every single thing from her I kept. I just couldn't let go of the life I won't get to live. All of these things that surround me are leaving. I thought I could carry on and keep them because they are so very precious to me.. I think now that you just made me realize its impossible. I'm taking the first step, the funeral. Then I'm going to cut this mullet that she loved so and get just a "regular" haircut. Like you said in another video. Then maybe once I have recreated myself I can start the motion in my life again. Thank you for sharing your life experiences. I needed these words of wisdom from a fatherly figure. I never had a father in my life to help with anything. Thank you.

On "following your passion": Something always seemed a little off about self-help gurus and "life coaches" telling people to follow their passion. They go on and on about how fabulously successful they became by building a business around their passion. So, what is your business? Getting paid to tell people to follow their passion... The whole thing is nothing but a big circle jerk.

I found this after having a very depressed moment seeing people in their twenties full of life doing what they love. I'm 43 and nothing I have done in my life worth anything. Right out of high school I went to work and I needed help to get my driver's license and never got it until I was 35 years old. I took driver's ed but I needed practice on the road and I had nobody. I never had multiple friends, only one and she can't drive due to medical issues. My family never lift a finger when I'm in need. All my jobs were miserable. I have irritable bowel syndrome with diarrhea, long-term depression, anxiety disorder, and panic attacks. I've lost a lot of teeth and hair and I've gained a lot of weight. I have a lot of problems with my back and my feet swelling and severe sciatica in both legs. My vision really sucks. I have no skills in anything and no Talent. I barely have enough money to live off of and this epidemic is not helping my situation. So, how and where do I start to try to get a life and finally for the first time in my life be happy? BTW my parents are dead.

I’m coming up on 26 this year, I have worked physical labor jobs since I was about 13. In my area it’s typical for younger kids to work on the local farms from an early age. For the past 7 years I have invested in the arborculture industry. Essentially for the purpose of having a skill I can always fall back on and make a living with. This past year however, I have been feeling trapped and discouraged. It is a feeling I have been struggling with a lot. I just wanted to let you know; the videos you make, and the way you perceive the world/life has recently lent me encouragement and some hope. Had to stop the vid and play Cats in the Cradle. Hadn’t heard it in years! So fitting for my grandfather and I (didn’t really have a father). When my grandfather passed away early and it destroyed me, only male role model I’d ever know, and when I hit my teens I was always to busy to spend time fishing, golfing and all the other things we’d enjoyed earlier in life. I’m now 55 and still have regrets and think of him often, always hoping he’s proud of who I’ve become and knows how much he meant to me and the direction of my life! Thank you sir for the content you provide, of all the red pill, MGTOW etc. Yours seems to resonate with me most! Peace be with you!

"College just prolongs adolescence" so true lol all my friends that went to college finished recently and are moving back now, they have no idea what to do, cant get jobs, and remind me a lot of my childish self when I decided college wasn't for me a few years ago. They all grew ego's while away at college and I basically lost them all as friends because they didn't want to waste time with non-college people, but it was only a momentary loss because they're back now, extremely lost, and I'm the friend that's knowledgeable on what they currently need help on. It feels good to finally get the respect I deserve for taking the less walked path. Stay strong brothers, it gets better, especially if you make being better a goal.

Losing weight was imperative. I never was a drinker, never delved into drugs besides smoking weed casually and doing shrooms twice, wasn't into most of the bad shit for you... But my "Drug" Was Food. Fuck it was unreal... I still can't imagine that I used to weigh about 500lbs at one point. Down to 230ish now at 6'1 so I'm getting there. Ideally 180-200lbs is where I'd like to sit. You're ONE HUNDRED PERCENT correct when you say to correct your health over EVERYTHING. Holy shit the difference in my overall quality of life is astonishing... Sad to say I never knew what health was before the age of 32... I'm just grateful as fuck that I do. I do say follow a passion though, or at least like Mike Rowe says: "Bring your passion WITH you." Trust me, being a family man is not easy...but I devoted the last 23 years of my life to ensure I enjoy my family, my children have everything they could every want (physically, spiritually, emotionally. For the last 23 years I told myself each and every day I did not want to look back and rue and stew on what I did not do based on what is important to me...and I did it. But trust me...it was not easy. It's all I know though.

I agree 👍 Just because you read something in a book does not make you an expert. Young people/and old just because they have a therapy degree think they can go out and fix peoples problems. They only make it worse ! They have NO life experiences behind them, 1 year of marriage makes them an expert on marriage . 1 argument with there parents makes them an expert on abuse and so on. Most therapists, pastors, should be building bird houses or washing cars. I get you on alot of this 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👍👍👍

I'm 62 , against my mothers wishes I dropped out of college to go sailing. Through sailing I met some of the most successful people ever. I met a guy on the docks that happened to be Kirby vacuum distributor. Through him I learned consultive, advisory selling skills and was able to take control of my life. I agree with the importance of purpose and keeping adventure as part of your life. I agree with everything you say. Create don't compete. I did make a mistake by getting seduced into the "trap of ease" by a beautiful blond but it served me well by keeping things in perspective. Looking forward to more of your talks.

I did not get a 4yr degree or use my gi bill but I do not regret it. I strongly dislike classes & office life. college degrees seem to be a mandate in modern society. 30/40 years ago, college was meant for smart people or science research. now, people go to university courses then never use them.

Honestly, I do kinda see where you are coming from. I think not everyone should go to college, but I do think college is useful as long as you're actually going to use it. College can be quite useful if you're actually going into a profession where it is required.

The problem is people think they are doing what they love and in the end, they fuck up. If a person truly loved what he was doing, in the end, he would become a master of it. But the mind is a complicated thing you can think you love something but you don't. What influences this? Everything. You just watch a guy you love and he is doing something that he loves and then you want to do that but that thing truly isn't for you it's for the guy you watched. It's a big topic. Think but your not right for this one. Finding what you truly love is almost impossible there are people that find what they truly love and they became masters of it and that makes money. But many of us who don't find what they truly love have to do what they don't like to get money. Sad truth. The point is what you are telling isn't an absolute truth. Thanks for your videos. You are a great person!

I love this video so much. I'm 27 and this relates big time to my current place in life. What do you do when your in a long term relationship that your intuition has been telling you to leave for 3 years? When your in a city that feels like a cage? in a job you hate and have no career path? It's a lot that is for sure.

Ty Kenny how has your year been bro? Seeing these things and waking up to the truth is a blessing. Intuition is so god damn important and must be trusted - it is your soul speaking to you. Would go so far as to say the meaning of your life is found by following your intuition

The great thing about Harry Chapin when it comes to inspiration is that he died at the ripe old age of 38. So you can say....maybe I haven't achieved that much in life...but at least I'm still around, unlike poor Harry RIP. Puts things into perspective.

My prediction is the most sought-after and most-in demand careers will be in the trades in the future.
@jimcole6423
@jimcole6423 6 жыл бұрын
I would have to respectfully disagree about the historical aspect of the statement. There has been a huge push for 4 year degrees since the 60's. Now, today the pendulum swings. Trades are gaining momentum due to many forces in place. However, fundamentally speaking, many college educated people who have four year degrees that are not in demand don't want to do other work. That will change for many when they get hungry enough. So, there are programs offering one and two year certificates, some of which are two-year degrees in the "trades". This is a wonderful opportunity for all who are "sitting duck" with their non-in demand degree to go get something that truly is in demand and ride the wave in the interim until things change for them and perhaps their four year degree will come of value.

George,you are a good man,you care about others. I honestly think though,you dont talk about the most important thing,,,that is beliefs. Not in anything out side of our selves but the beliefs that we act upon. They say you are what you eat,,,thats just useless tripe! I believed sone thing I was told when I was about 10. It was a shocking story that should never have been told to a child. I was very very shocked by it.My young mind,not having the ability to interprate it correctly,came to sub concious conclusions. Those conclusions altered my behavior and actions of my whole life.The results were not good. Upon dealing with it,there was an IMMEDIATE change in me!!! This occured by under going Psych/k. A few days later,I had the most unexpected thought. Was the story even TRUE???????? I believed it was and payed a heavy and unexpected price. Simply because I WILLINGLY BELIEVED,,,WITHOUT QUESTION.
