Great instruction, and very much appreciate the repetition. That`s how most learn and remember, through repetition.

I am obcessed with double feed right now. Is the double feed more common on Browning type locked designs than on linear type designs (like Luger and Beretta 92)? Is this common on straight blowback fixed barrel designs like VP70Z and Walther PP? I suspect the struggle between extractor and case rim during recoil is the responsible for double feed. Am I nuts or not?

Good info but I have a question. I noticed every reload your left index finger is toward the top of the mag, I am assuming that is on purpose and would you be willing to explain why?

After clearing can you not trust the first magazine in case you only have the one? Thanks in advance.

If you have to, of course. You'll probably have to re-seat the top round.

Noob here, had that happen to me a few weeks ago, the range officer helped with these same instructions. He said it was because I was shooting reman ammo. The case might have been damaged or warped.
@RTTGunsGear4 жыл бұрын
It's unlikely that the case was damaged or warped, otherwise it probably wouldn't have loaded correctly to begin with. Unless the damage came from an over pressured load that expanded the case too much for the extractor to be defective. That is one of the gambles with reman ammo.

Can you please explain the reason double feed happens? Is it the bad condition of the ejector or the mag?
@RTTGunsGear6 жыл бұрын
F Hameed Most commonly is extractor issues, where either the extractor is worn or broken and skips past the casing rim, or the casing is stuck in the chamber due to crud or overexpansion.

One. Suggestion. Keep your weapon pointed down at a 45 degree angle and you are less likely to drag your palm across the barrel of your chambered firearm. You will be more inclined to rack from the rear of you firearm. Muzzle discipline is equally important in resolving malfunctions. Thanks for the demo.

Google SUCKS! You're going to have to show me what you're talking about. Not only did I not flag myself, but other than becoming a pretzel, I'm unsure how you would do this same thing with it pointed down.
Google SUCKS! It's the angle of the camera. At no point is my hand in front of the muzzle. Here is the same drill from a different angle... kzbin.info/www/bejne/nXKtfWeLjrpmrac

Why 3 racks? Shouldn't two be sufficient?
@RTTGunsGear8 жыл бұрын
You could do two. I teach three for the reason of making damn sure everything is clear. Keep in mind, in a real life situation, you would get behind some sort of cover or concealment to do this.

Fair enough. Thanks.

Hey big fan of your videos. Question tho is it not an easier technique to lock the slide back? In that case I found that not only does the mag fall out easy so no ripping needed. It also allows for the jammed round to fall out which the second round was in the mag so its already out. At that point maybe a rack or 2 but I have never needed the extra racking for the rounds all fell out from locking the slide back and dropping the mag. I do encourage the racking in class but fill it is a waste of time unless you have something major going on with the weapon.

Just what I've always thought, failure of the extractor to pull-out the the empty shell or the un-fired round. New gun owner here...

You shouldn't fire the trigger with a double feed or the round can explode causing serious injuries or even death
@XxMrRoachxX7 жыл бұрын
really? As if you would anticipate a double feed like you see it happen while shooting??? Get out of here dude...

A weapon does not fire if it is out of battery like in a double fed condition.
