I’ve changed my clutch basket gear as the teeth were worn and the new gear is already getting worn a lot, any advice?

Gday, i recently got a pit bike. I think its a motorworks (if that is a brand) one but not sure as ive never had a pit bike before, its a 2011 125cc and the kickstart sometimes gets stuck when kicking, it also has low oil and i dunno what oil it takes, any help would be fantastic, 😁👍

There's a weird sound coming from mine when I ride it don't know how to describe it, almost like a grind or chain slap but sounds internal. From the left side of the engine. But it also kick slips sometimes

Great vid mate and I do enjoy the maintenance vids and this happened to my 170 a few yrs ago same damage to the same cogs quite an easy fix not had any problems since fingers crossed anyway look forward to the next vid 👍

@@el_delaoz nope this just uses the stock cdi but i know the later models have a decompression system, to be honest I've never had issue with this, not like the z155 kickbacks

Sounds like the same issue happening yes. Fun bikes sells the m2r so they should have everything for the job I guess

Mine feels weird. It doesn't slip when kicked, but when kicked hard it feels like something drags or catches and stops the rotational force. I had mine apart and didn't see the gears like this, but hope i didn't miss it. Can't find those gears for mine though, so I sure hope not...

Sounds like it's the kick start wearing to me but might be OK for a bit. Not sure what else it could be. Good luck with solving it mate

If you have time just take off the crank case and check every gear and clean out everything one at a time

Also do regular checks like seeing if you have spark irmf you haven't used It for a while and if you fuel jets have been blocked or not

Mine wont kick at all it will let y pull it down but it stops at a point and doesnt go on

The 2 gears together,1 is attached to the kickstart shaft,can anyone tell me what the 1 above it is as the shaft is broken broken behind the gear

My 160cc use to go though them two gears like no tomorrow felt like I was ordering them one a week such a pain

My 160 never did but not used like this 1. I've heard tho they were prone to it, don't fancy doing the regularly hopefully OK now for another 50 plus hours

Yes it was flipped/looped once or twice but I do have a replacement subframe to put on very soon

This is normal in these engines because the kik will reflect and damage these modes

@@matteoraab1484 more torque on 190 but not quicker. So does not matter as much to what gear 190 is in comparison to 170. 170 quicker up to 57mph which is plenty off road

I would get rid of that big kickstart johnny i bought one for my 170 and it jumped teeth i took it off immediatlely and put the smaller one back on i fully blame the kicksart for your sprocket trouble mate

To be honest I've hardly used the kickstart as electric start usually works. I know what you mean tho they are rubbish and stick out to catch tour shin.

56 hours of abuse but they are only an old c90 engine pumped up and over 40 years so not designed great plus chinesium metal doesn't help, it's poor quality. So yes more forces than they had planned for it. Haha the sign was broke so I picked up as discarded on the floor like rubbish.

@@motomachinezuk8786 my cousin fell off the MTB again, this time on perfectly good dry road, I let him borrow it for 5 minutes, he needed 8 stitches under the chin, it was quite a bad one, everywhere else was fine. Don't know how he managed it as it has 2.25 inch tyres and its only 1500w, rear brake isn't that strong either.

@@motomachinezuk8786 he says he still wants the bike but his mum says hes not allowed to go out on it otherwise we would have gone out this weekend. Last time we went he dislodged my bbshd and I had to redo it, and he was lucky not to get ran over as he was on the wrong side of the road at a weird junction in silverstone, I think it confused him because its double or triple the width of a normal junction. He has some sort of problem thats hard to pin down, physical coordination mostly or doing stupid things unpredictably.

Now we see why the kickstart was broke in the first place 😅 take it easy to prime and give 1 solid kick, don’t kick down on it like that, that’s what happened
