After seeing a bunch of videos on the Titan, I just realized from your video that it looks like the controller can be removed by removing 4 screws. That's a great feature. As opposed, trying to get 4 hard to reach clips to release to remove traditional controller. My Pit Boss Platinum 1250 has a cool feature as well. An auger maintenance access door. You can remove the auger motor and auger without having to remove the hopper.

Man this video just saved me alot of headaches. Couldn't understand the start up setting vs the normal heat setting when it fires up. I just bought the platinum 1250 and did my first burn off and i had some wild temp fluctuations. I wonder if my start up was messing with my set temp at the home screen? I wish my platinum had the option of not starting up when i turn it on. Seems really stupid that this isn't a standard feature. Cant have it all though. Smoking my first set of pork ribs today so hopefully the controller works! Thanks for this vid.

Generally grills need to connect to 2.4 band wifi. So check your router and see if that might be the issue.

Question - some brands are now going in and removing the remote start feature from the App to prevent an accidental butt dial start with a cover still on the grill or grill in a unsafe location and causing fire or property damage. Now you can use the app for temp control and setting alarms etc but you have to manually go to the pit and turn it on and off. I guess the lawyers have discovered the “smokin business”. Does the Titan Pit Boss come with remote start and shut down feature on the App/your smart phone or is also manual?

For that reason (accidental start) Pit Boss does not have a start feature from the app. You can however turn off the smoker from the app or manually.

I just got my Titan a few days ago. I did the burn off with the temp set at 400 but the grill climbed to between 485-495. Did a seasoning burn on it and set the temp to 400 but again it stayed way high. Just got thru with a test where I put some thermometers in it to test it. I had one sitting right in front of the grill temp probe and others spread around inside of the grill. I had the temp set at 250 but it climbed to around 300-305 and stayed there. Do you think I have a bad temp probe or is there something wrong with the control board?

Is there a probe port for the temp probes? It doesn't look like that style of lid or sliding trays would allow it but I have yet to see a close up picture of that area. Your biscuit test video shows the wires just smashed in the door like you would do on a weber kettle.

Live in Minnesota I bought 1600 elite…had to return it because it wouldn’t connect to my app. Exchanged it for the same 1600 elite same issue couldn’t connect to the app and kept failing to update the firmware. Scared…but I just bought this Titan going to go pick it up next weekend. Hopefully it connects.

@@kerichildress6257 I never got the Elite to connect after buying 2. I ended up returning both and buying the Titan and it’s work flawlessly for me. I think something was bad in all the control boards for most of these elites.

I have the pro series elite 1600 and the only time I've successfully been able to run the app was when I first started it up. Ever since then and I have a dual router that has 2.4 and 5 it constantly lags and will not stay connected for any long cooks. I've read nothing but issues from other models on the app. I hope this isn't the case with this model. Can you actually go over app issues and trouble shooting sometime?

On some controllers you can disengage the PID and increase the percentage of pellets going into the fire pot. This causes the temperature to go up for very hot grilling of steaks. Does this have that feature?

You could crank it to 500, run the auger prime for 15-20 seconds to dump fresh pellets, open up the sear plate and you will be pushing 1000f

Is there a cold smoke function like on my Green Mountain where you can just turn on the fan and adjust the fan speed? I use this function in combination with a smoke tube so that I can cold smoke items like cheese, butter and veggies.

The Lonestar is for sure premium but about 2 times the price ,website showing 20 x 36 to be 2695.00 those are forever grills with 3/16 inch steel also it weighs 400 lbs

Just got the Titan 2 days ago, and it won't connect to wifi. Have done everything I can think of, including changing my router to 2.4ghz, which is right on the other side of my patio wall. It will pick up the network, just not connect. How did you get yours to connect?

Hey! Via the app, what version does your Titan show? Mine connects fine but I have a very strong connection and fast connection speed (fiber optic) I had zero issues connecting mine to WiFi.

@GrillSergeant Thanks for responding. I also have a very fast network 1G fiber optic wifi6 mesh. I am not sure what version until I get back home, but on another forum, a Pit Boss owner said if it is firmware version D32, it will never work. And that they had to send an updated controller that had firmware version D62. Once he got that, his wifi was running like a champ.

Just bought one based on all the advertised features. Was able to connect via bluetooth, but sadly cannot connect to wifi. Keep getting an error message. Pit Boss says they do not provide support for wifi tech. Cannot update firmware as a result. Disappointed to say the least.

So Pit Boss came out with a new app that is different from their original Smoke IT app. The new app can be found in the App Store called “Pit Boss Grills” if you are talking about not being able to connect over WiFi, at my old house I had to setup a router in my patio so my grills could connect.
