This brings back a lot of memories for my wife and myself.we arrived on our own sailboat in April 1981 having left CapeTown 18 days before I wonder if any of the islanders would remember us as we were the first paraplegics to sail on our own across the Atlantic and now reside in Fort Lauderdale.

I love the way you photograph the motion of the boat, the sails pulling you along, and the views of your Oyster gracefully cutting through the water. I think you capture the essence of sailing better than anyone. I sold my boat but who needs it when you can watch Sailing Florence!!!!!!

This whole passage feels like a 'final lap' or something? I keep worrying that once you hit Bermuda- we only have a few episodes left! So, I'm savoring each video- knowing full well that the adventure is coming to a close. Oh well, you folks do such a good job- I've watched every video since the beginning, and there is a vast improvement in video quality over time. Yet, the sense of adventure that underlays the whole circumnavigation remains essentially unchanged. I must admit, I thought that we lost you both to South Africa- they made an honest effort to keep you local! But, St. Helena is proof that you are finishing what you started, and home is your future. "Good on, Ya!" as they they say in the Southern hemisphere! Can't wait for the exploration video upcoming. Travel safe.

Hi Matt & Amy I see you've made it up to St. Helena after 10 days sailing. Trust you had a good voyage with the trades and current behind you. I think I've watch all of your episodes now which were just amazing. Hope you enjoy my home and will get the opportunity to do some hiking around the Island and some diving there. I did speak with my friends Larry and his son Anthony to sort out some diving for you. The yacht club is just next to the dive club so I'm sure you will meet the guys there. Enjoy St. Helena.

Amy, Matt, When watching this vid. I tried to make a literary analysis of your speeches in the film. Goodness! How do you make it? You do talk about what? A beautiful voice of the Chef Cook telling me about dicing fish, carrot, perhaps potatoes, and I am on the deck of Florence! I do accompany Amy and feel enlisted as the third member of the crew. Only one person is aware that I have to pass the passport control without having this vital document. Is visa required? Fortunately Mat is a smart skipper who is friendly to all foreigners. During the 6 years of his circumnavigation I learnt to be the least important member of the crew. I have fun when Mat is establishing the path on the South Atlantic just to reach St Helena. Mat you became more relaxed and natural when you speak to me. Thank you for your cooperation. Next episode is in two weeks time. Safe hiking on Saint Helena. Do not buy an airline ticket from St. Helena to London. It is expensive. Sailing across the world ocean on your boat Florence to reach your Island is a better idea than to take a flight to the Island of Great Britain. Safe Sailing! Your friend - M.

If y'all decide to stay in Florida for a little while, you really should try visiting at least one of the beautiful springs we have. They're 72°F year round and gin clear. In St. Pete the Dalí museum has the largest collection of Dalí paintings outside of Spain.

I agree, so many Covid rules defy logic. But I guess, it's a very small, very remote island, without extensive medical facilities, if someone were to become very unwell with it.

You are correct, Mat and Amy should not be stopped on Florence for three days as simply it makes no sense. No efforts from local authorities to be reasonable, to show that we care for our visitors.
@budbuddybuddest2 жыл бұрын
Covid checks are prudent for the tiny island. Whats the rush - no problem living aboard a couple days before landing.
@soggybottom34632 жыл бұрын
@@budbuddybuddest Not the point and you know it. Btw, attempting to gin up an argument with others as a platform to market whatever you're selling is rather tiresome, not to mention bad manners. You're welcome.
