I watched this movie again last year, and it's become quite interesting in the post-MCU world. It came out at a time where we were still figuring out superhero movies, so stuff was a bit more out there (though definitely not always good). It's got a fantastic premise and there are legit hints of brilliance in it, it's just hampered by being so muddled and messy. And the premise definitely calls for at least an R rating. This is one of those movies that would definitely benefit from a remake, with a tone similar to The Boys.

When you're a king who is reigning through the power of knights who control horses using reins, you really have to take things by the reins to stay on top of things so that none of those knights tries to take the reins and interrupt your reign while you're reigning. To preserve your reign, you have to rein in their power before they get rebellious and try to rein in yours.

Honestly I watched the movie years after it came out. And the first half is so good. This super jaded superhero that is too powerful to contain, but doesn’t hurt anyone so they just leave him be. And he gets help, fighting his inner demons. It’s a great message that even someone with all the power in the world can still ask for help, and get better.
