Thanks for donating to them. I adopted them both and just got back to my house in rural WI with them this afternoon. They are both walking real well, Willie isn't doing stairs so have to carry him on them. But he's doing incredibly well considering its less than two weeks after surgery. Full of energy and loves to get pet. Now we're sorting out the pet politics with the cats. As you might imagine the cats don't appreciate not being consulted on this.
@LilandraX15 күн бұрын
@@nickwarner8158 Thanks for giving them a loving home. Dogs sometimes want to be friends in ways cats don't appreciate, like smelling their butts vigorously. They like to please people, and they can learn to leave cats who don't want to be that kind of friend be. Cats can have dog-free zones, on top of things dogs can't reach. I hope Willie is still healing and will get strong enough for the stairs. They often hide when they are injured, so sometimes they are in pain, and we can't tell.

This reminds me how we found a rottweiler 6 or 7 years ago that had been recently hit by a car near our house while we were out for the morning. Since it was a Saturday, most places were closed already, and since we live in an unincorporated area, the shelter claimed that it wasn't in their jurisdiction. We ended up taking it to a vet that was still open just to see what we could do, and we ended up keeping him for a week on medication and comfortable to reduce the swelling before they could take an x-ray. Unfortunately, because we lacked the resources to help him any further and we didn't have any idea what to further do, we had to put him down. I wish I could have done more. At least other pets we have are rescues.

I just can not express how thankful I am to have seen this video. Pitties are amongst the most mis understood and mis treated dog breed/ mixes. There are always a few of them at my local animal shelter and the laws about owning one over here (Spain/Europe) are as strict as owning a fire arm (which is a lot stricter than in the u.s.). So these dogs, even if they are in perfectly fine health and very well behaved and sweet as can be to humans will usually spend several years before they get adopted. If at all. Your story about Waylon and Willy really moved me cause eventhough I've never seen them, I have seen those looks many times before. I really hope you'll find the right people for these dogs who appreciate them for what they are. Good Luck Aron, and many thanks for airing this video

You're awesome for helping save these dogs. I don't know why this made me think of it but it genuinely amazes me how conservatives can constantly complain about abortion but often advocate for euthanizing young dogs like this that could very easily be rehabilitated with a little love and care rather than providing funding for no-kill shelters, yeah vet bills cost money, but nothing at all compared to forcing a woman to carry a potentially inviable or, depending on the state at the moment, even already dead fetus to term, give birth to said child (viable or not), risking the mother's life and exacting a toll on the mother physically, socially, economically, and psychologically, all so that _some_ unplanned and/or unwanted infant can either end up in a home that isn't capable of really providing a good environment for them, the foster system, or best case, adoption. But it's okay, the ones paying the price aren't actual people, they're _women_ so they're just property to these whackjobs. To be fair, they don't provide financial support for the ~~property~~ women forced into this position, either, as they care less about them than they do the dogs. Being conservative needs to stop being socially accepted or tolerated and called out for the bigotry that it is. A study published in Nature recently showed that by a huge margin conservatives (self identified, also asked political affiliation and shockingly conservative tracked with Republican) tend to be anti-democratic at an alarmingly far higher rate than liberals do, due mainly from what the authors labeled RWA and SDO, Right Wing Authoritarianism and Social Dominance Orientation, basically, but not exactly, fascism and racism/sexism, respectively. Very much a "it's okay to break the rules if _we_ do it" among other horrific things. The title is "Liberal-conservative asymmetries in anti-democratic tendencies are partly explained by psychological differences in a nationally representative U.S. sample" and here's the DOI if anyone wants to look it up: 10.1038/s442710924099986-3 it's open access so no paywall, definitely worth a read.
